Guest guest
Have you thought of trying a salt pipe? You could google to get more information as to how they work. > > what helped you most with the air hunger? arteminsinin? Guest guest
hmm. I never heard of this before. It certainly sounds distressing. And you're right, taking deep breaths would help with fatigue. I wonder if deep yogic breathing would help. Would you like me to post a description? Also, it was said at my support group, that BB doesn't like oxygen, hence, we sometimes start the meeting with deep breathing. Best, ellen > > what helped you most with the air hunger? arteminsinin? Guest guest
Hi, I am glad to read that more than just I are 'conscious' of our breathing b/c it doesn't seem to be enough. I have too, had shortness of breath, which lead to negative asthma tests and lots of steriods. Ugh. Went to the ER two days in a row because of it. I did not know until just now that is most likley Babesia. I am too just going to start the Babesia protocol for my ten year old fever and night sweats. Funny the cooler it is the more sweats I have. Who know. But I had great results w/ the Neuro Buhner so I have great hope my Babesia symptoms clear. That would be great to be free of fever for once. Thanks to all for sharing. Makes things so much easier to deal with. Tara
Guest guest
ellen & ballady: thanks for your offers. fyi, i am certified breathworker, daily practice conscious breathing for several years, do yogic breathing like alternate nostril, and use neti pot (which helps some of congestion but not the constriction). all this is most difficult when breath is so constricted. i did look into salt pipe, but it was uncommon here in usa, seems mostly in europe. Guest guest
Many people on the LS board are using the pipe. I bought one as well (I'm from the US). It definitely does help. I think that conscious awareness can do a lot toward easing fear and anxiety that might arise in different phases of an illness. Air hunger certainly does require calmness as the sensation of not being able to get a full breath can lead to panic, which can lead to even more constriction. That being said, there is still the actual symptom that will arise and needs to be addressed in the best possible way. I think that Artimisinin is helping to address it (for me) on a deeper level and the salt pipe helps me to feel more comfortable in the process. Guest guest
ballady: i appreciate your response. do you have suggestions for where to purchase salt pipe? when i searched before, seems like sites were mostly prices in euros. i now found this one: http://www.natural-salt-lamps.com/saltpipe.html the elephant shape looks fun :-) what is " LS board " ? regarding fear and breathing: since i shifted four years ago from resisting this illness to accepting it as my teacher, it has presented me with wealth of opportunities to learn, grow, develop--and let go, surrender at deeper and deeper levels. learning more about how fear and breathing are related has been wonderful. yet, sometimes, like last night, i reach another edge of frustration and just need to " vent " --which sometimes seems to help allow more " space " to unfold. may we all breathe in grace and ease. kendra -----Original Message----- From: [mailto: ]On Behalf Of ballady4 Many people on the LS board are using the pipe. Guest guest
Hi Kendra, First, the LS board is the Lyme Strategies forum for people doing the salt/c protocol, but other adjuncts are discussed as well. This is where I first learned about the salt pipe. My pipe is from the UK. Here is the URL: http://www.thesaltpipe.co.uk/?gclid=CNGAlLKnkocCFTgkLAod_k8tpw It looks like the difference between this and the one you found is that mine guarantees the crystals for 5 years. The one you found (yes, the elephant is cute!)only lasts a few years but apparently the salt is replaceable. There was also a disucssion on the LS board about a much cheaper pipe but I can't remember the name offhand. I have come to believe that salt is a great healer so it made sense to me that breathing it into my lungs might also be beneficial. I completely agree with you about an illness being a teacher. I have come to regard it as a gift, although not always so easy to do when confronted with an uprising of symptoms. I think it not only healthy, but imperative, to acknowledge what we really feel, especially when immersed in the rough spots. But I do think we often emerge from these painful sieges a little softer, maybe even with some of our edges honed, and that is a beautiful thing. All the best, Ballady

Guest guest
I had never heard of " Air Hunger " before -- but perhaps it was the first symptom that I had with Lyme's? Until June 2005, I was very healthy & happy & life was good! Then I was moved to an off-site office that was truly toxic. The building was moldy & mildew-y -- it stank! Then, to make matters worse, it was also vermin infested. There was a part-time worker who was always screaming about the roaches & mouse droppings. So what did they do about it? They put rat-traps everywhere & kept spraying the building with bug-spray! I thought that I was going to die because I literally could not breathe when I was at the office! For a while, I would pry open one of the doors, which seemed to help tremendously. -- that is until the part-timer complained to the main office & then I couldn't breathe again! That's when I decided to purchase an air purifier. It is very important to get one where you can turn of the ionizer, because that depletes a room's ozone levels. Anyway, I always had to keep on the air purifier. The main guy came over and said, " How come you are always complaining about " smells? " - - nobody else in the office is complaining about smells. What's wrong with you? " (It was difficult for me to keep a straight face!) Then, I would have to bring the air purifier home on the weekends, because I would find myself gasping for air at night. It seemed very strange, but I felt like I was choking! At any rate, as I read more & more about how global warming is growing out of hand -- how the ocean oxygen bacteria, and old trees are dieing -- how more and more methane and CO2 are being released into the atmosphere due to glacial melting -- I am beginning to wonder if the Bb, and even the Lyme's patients -- are we all like the " Canary in the Coal Mine? " -- are we the one's that are most sensitive to toxins that are slowing killing everyone? Damn that is a big disspointment! I was really hoping to stick around to see the " new day dawning " -- I am still hoping for a new age of peace, love and harmony -- maybe it is silly to hope for such things... but I still believe that could be possible
