Guest guest
Hi all. I went through a 24 week treatment with pegintron and ribavirin and was undetectable. After 3 months I relapsed, my viral levels had shot back up and so I went through a second round of 70 weeks. At that point the drs decided I was a nonresponder. This past Friday I started a new treatment for nonresponders and relapsers with infergen injections 3X weekly and ribavirin. I had the same reaction to the infergen as to the peg, mainly flu-like. Today I felt pretty good even managing to go to WalMart. I hope the second injection goes as well. My cirrhosis has advanced and I now have ascites (fluid around the liver). Also my alphafetoprotein level is now 94.6 with normals being up to 7.2 so they're worried about the development of cancer though nothing shows on a CT scan yet. Take care y'all...Many of you will remember me...Bob from the U.P. of Michiganflanneryged <flanneryged@...> wrote: Hello there i am not trying to intrude but it sounds like your having abit of a tough time.Well i know how you feel i went through the sameand i would again if i had to.I used to think of it like this today hasbeen shit but there is tomorow ,i used to go to bed pissed right off. However i allways felt different in the morning, thats how i got throughthe interferon/ribavirin,injections/capsules.GOOD LUCK I WILL OFER MY PRAYERS FOR YOU. *GED* Love cheap thrills? Guest guest
Bob, I am sorry to hear that the first and second treatment dident work for you. I hope and i will pray that this new meds work for you.My sister tried the treatments as well and was a non responder. She too had the fluid around her liver. She was fgoing to the hospital every two weeks to be drained. She too has cirrosis. She is just taking life one day at a time. I am genotype 1 a.I do not have any cirrosis. My biopsy showed very little fibrosis.I gonna just keep doing what i am doing and try to keep my life clean. I do take pretty good care of myself and Just want to retire with my man.He has been awesome. He is retired and now working a full time job to pay for my treatments.
