Guest guest
Congratulations to Greg and to YOU Sue for all you've accomplished. You're inspiring to the rest of us. I can remember when Greg was fearful before he started treatment, and now it's almost over. Be sure to post your new address when you get it! C [ ] Hi, everyone. Guest guest
Welcome back. We've missed you. I think 47 of 48 is pretty good and I pray that the virus is gone for good and never bothers him again. Sounds like things are going well for you and yours and I hope now that Greg is off of the treatment he starts feeling better. -dz-angel <angelsusanne@...> wrote: It's Sue and gidget. I got cable internet and thus, a new email address.greg has stopped his treatment. he had one shot left to go but he has been so sick for the past few weeks, downin bedd with a migraine, unable to work, that the doc said it's ok for him to stop one week early. So, he made it for 47 of the 48 shots. i am proud of him for completing the treatment because it has been very hard on him, and I am not sure I would have been able to keep on it if it were me.I have been staying busy going to Curves exercise club for women, and it is definitely paying off. they are very nice and they had no problems showing me how to use the machines, and they don't have problems with my guide dog being there. gidget lays by the wall and waits for me to return half an hour later and she has been very good. People have been good about leaving her alone, too.At night, i have been doing radio and phone dispatch for our neighborhood patrol. it takes up a lot of time but it's well worth it.i hope everyone has been doine ok. i unsubscribed on the 12th of November and just now got resubscribed. Guest guest
Hi DZ and all. Well, things were going good. But, that has changed. Monday morning around two am, i awoke to a terrible crash, reached over to shake Greg gently to wake him to ask him to see what it was, and I found he was not in bed. i found him crumpled on the floor in the bathroom. he had blacked out without any warning, hit his head on the back of the toilet and also on the sink vanity, and although he talked to me when i spoke to him, I could tell he wasn't even aware of it. i touched him and that's what roused him. i will be contacting our primary care physician to see if he can refer Greg toa neurologist. He has had a " migraine " headache since Nov. 17th. It could be nothing or it could be serious, no one knows. And, today, gidget gets tested to see if she has diabetes brought on by the use of prednisone. She has the classic symptoms. So, let's hope the rest of December is better than its beginning. Everyone have an enjoyable day. Sue and Gidget
Guest guest
Wow, that must have been scary. I've never heard of a reaction like that connected to the treatment, I hope they find that all is well. I have had migraines that lasted several days, but I don't think they ever lasted a week or more. I think I would be looking for a nuerologist too, if it was me. Keep us posted. -dz-angel <angelsusanne@...> wrote: Hi DZ and all. Well, things were going good. But, that has changed. Guest guest
Hi to everyone again. The good news is that Gidget does not have diabetes as our vet feared. We don't know what's wrong, but at least no insulin shots! As for Greg, he's done with treatment and I am writing to our primary care doc and asking for a referral to a neurologist for Greg. I will let everyone know when I know something. thanks to everyone for always being there for me. i do appreciate it. Sue and Gidget

Guest guest
Hi, it's just me again. Well, now, the vets tell me Gidget might have 's Disease. Actually, theysaid " Atypical 's Disease: from the prednisone that saved her life. I am to wean her off the pred, which I have been doing, and then they might do an " ACT: bloodtest and if it turns out she has this disease, it will mean monthly shots. I don't know the cost of the shots but the test is $180 so it will have to wait. We just put out $215.77 and she is worth it, but the holidays are coming and, well, we need to recuperate a bit from the last one. Rick, I mistook your name for another person. i mean, your name is right, but oh gee, this gets confusing! Anyway, Rick, the one who knows Pat, I got you mixed up with the guy who is going to have a transplant, or be evaluated for one; sorry about that. greg is done with his meds and I am still trying to get him in to see our primary care doc. Our grandson, the premie one, has pneumonia. Always something, but life is good anyway. Have to have a good attitude, right? everyone enjoy the upcoming weekend. Sue and gidget angelsusanne@... Guest guest
I know what you mean about the expenses. Vets aren't much cheaper than doctors and there's no insurance. I actually did look into some pet insurance that has recently become available, but it was quite expensive. Good luck with Gidget. I know how much our pets mean to us, with Gidgets additional duties, you must be even closer with her than most of us pet lovers. -dz-angel <angelsusanne@...> wrote: Hi, it's just me again. Last week, when they tried to call, they just wanted to tell me that some BIG DOGS were in town, from where my meds get shipped from and they looked at my medical records. They commented that my labs look great. Also, I got a call from the pharmacy that ships my meds. I will receive my next shipment this coming Friday. I can't wait. Ha! Everyone, have a great day. Guest guest
Glad you're feeling better and relax, that store will be there tomorrow. ;-) Now repete after me.... oooommmmmmmmm....ooooommmmmm..... Seriously though, I was taught a relaxation and pain management technique from a therapist once that I wish I could convey on line but can't. You have to be able to hear it to experience it but if I ever come across it and learn the name I'll share it with the group. It actually works and I use it often at night to relax my muscles so I can sleep. Darn that Cymbalta anyway. Gayle > > I feel better after my soak and crackers.
