Guest guest
Sharon, don't take it if it makes you sick. Make them address this in a better way, what about cortazone injections, Tens Unit, more neurontin, anything but the stuff you can't tolerate. Shirley Sorry, but with this pain we all have, isn't there some one that can come up with something that will help us all without making us take all these drugs!! sharon <somesnickers89109@...> wrote: I have been a member about a month. I have learned so much from all of you. This is the second time I have ever posted. I guess I am kind of shy.....Anyway I had L4L5 Back fusion 1 year a go February of this year. My Dr. said it was emergency surgery cause I was losing bladder control and the ability to walk. I had plate and titanium screws put in. I have pain constantly in the L4L5 area. The DR> said my scaitia nerves had been crushed and MIGHT heal but no guarantees. Well, the nerves didnt heal. So I have nerve damage in both buttocks legs and feet. So know the neurologist has had me on neurotin plus Norco. Plus he is gunho on this spinal chord stimulator and I said NO WAY! I went to a pain management dr who has put me on methadone. Has anyone been prescribed that? I started to take it for a few days and I didnt like how it made me feel. I call the Dr. up and his answer is to up the dose. I told him the medicine makes me sick and he said he has never heard of it making anyone sick. I told him the methadone makes me feel weird in my head but does nothing for my pain. Guest guest
i just spoke with someone more knowledgeable about methadone and it was first developed as a synthetic pain killer and then used for returning soldiers to get them off heroin. it is still a terrible drug as far as i am concerned from seeing a lot of people go thru terrible withdrawal from methadone. bad shit

Guest guest
Bleeker, I have to agree with u, methadone was never meant to be a long term solution to drug addiction. If properly used it can help ease u off of heroin, but what I have seen is it has been given as a lifetime crutch to stifle there recovery and prevent them from being a productive member of society. Guest guest
Hi, folks i to am new to this group, as i read your stories i see my own. I had L4L5 screws put in and a fusion done on my L3 with bone fusion done to promote growth and strengthen the vertebrate. That was 2 months ago and I also have numbness in my left leg and foot. After the surgery I was in so much pain that i wished for death. My doctor told me at first that they may have put the screws in backward and rushed me in for a ct scan. After the scan he found out that the pain was coming from my nerves signals, witch were relaying to dead nerves. he searched and found a newly approved nerve blocker called lyrica. Although i am not pain free I am able to live and tolerate the pain that i am in.and I am thankful to god for that. Ask your doctor about lyrica , it was newly approved in November. It has saved my life. wanessa Shirley Moma <shirleymoma@...> wrote: Sharon, don't take it if it makes you sick. Guest guest
I totally agree. It is worse than heroin. I have never heard of anyone being prescribed methadone for pain. It is very addicting. My brother in law was a long time heroin user and has been going to the methadone clinic now for many many years. Find another pain managment doctor. Penny...
