He reviewed my CT scan tosee if my spine has fused from 2003 surgery. He said the fusion isquestionable in the L-1 through L-3 area. He said if there were aroom of 100 surgeons, 50 would say anterior surgery and 50 would sayno surgery. So, I go and see him May 15th to talk to him. Guest guest
Hi Eliza I was very overweight, and since I've been on this anti-candida diet, I've lost 48kg (my favourite conversion website says that is 105.82 pounds). I've been on the diet for 9 1/2 months, and I lost the first 20kgs so quickly I couldn't believe it. Over the weekend, I cheated for the first time in 9 1/2 months and didn't lose weight this week because of that. Normally I lose between 2 - 3 kgs per month. Hope that helps. Keen oops Sorry... I just realized that last post I made was a bit redundant... I had already asked that question. But I have another: I've definitely gained a lot of weight since my symptoms have been appearing. I'm wondering how long it will take the weight to get lost! I work out for at least 30 minutes a day, and I know that eliminating most of the carbs in my diet will do wonders... What were other people's results with weight loss? How fast did you lose it? How much did you lose?
Guest guest
Thanks so much for the responses. I think one of the major reasons I have candida now is that I took so many antibiotics for UTIs. I would get them over and over and over again; it was rather ridiculous. I would finishe the antibiotics for one, and a week later I would have another infection (or the same one, perhaps). I went in to the hospital once and got a camera-up-the-urethra operation (super-fun!), and it showed that the lining of my bladder was torn to shiz. So I went on antiobiotics for 6 months. A low dosage every day, but that's <i>still</i> a lot of antiobiotics! So now it's no wonder I have an imbalance of good bacteria in my system. I'm just wondering if I get another UTI (the cause is always mechanical, if you know what I mean, and I haven't been exposed to, ahem, <i>mechanics</i> for a while) what I should do. I know there are other treatment options available. Has anyone else run into this problem? What did you do? > > >i forgot i went to the doctors one time and he just asked my what all > >problems i was having didnt touch me at all.no piss test or > >anything.got a little thing looked like a caculater touch with a > >little pen and said i had a UTI > > That guy was a quack. Guest guest
Ive only ever had 2 UTIs in my life, but after being forced to take antibiotics for the last one I bought a supplement called D-Mannose (a sugar) which a lot of people rave about. Cranberry juice and natural UTI supplements never did anything for me. Fortunately for me I havent had the chance to try my D-Mannose yet so I can't tell you how well it works. Heres some info, and maybe others in the group know more about D-Mannose? http://www.drpressman.com/Library/D-Mannose.htm http://www.healingtherapies.info/D-Mannose.htm ita > > > > >i forgot i went to the doctors one time and he just asked my what > all > > >problems i was having didnt touch me at all.no piss test or > > >anything.got a little thing looked like a caculater touch with a > > >little pen and said i had a UTI > > > > That guy was a quack. Guest guest
I know of people who take cranberry tablets every day to help ward off bladder infections. But it could also be a sign of candida overgrowth and you could have the problem until the candida is under control. Keen Re: oops Thanks so much for the responses. Guest guest
I've found that I am either allergic to gluten or I am have celiac disease. (Bad tummy problems occur to put it nicely) I stopped eating all bread products (it took a long time to cut down) as well as cutting down on anything with corn in it and have lost weight. This was so great for me because it is very hard for me to lose weight. Also, I have severely cut down on my sugar consumption. Some people can stop eating bad food immediately but I needed to cut down slowly. Also, potatoes (especially fried ones) are horrible for the body. It's not just the fat but they emit some sort of toxins when cooked. (You could google that on the web because I can't remember what toxin they emit). I have also stopped eating cheese because I was slightly lactose intolerant and it seemed to get worse. Once in awhile I'll cheat but not often. I think that not eating all the carbs from the bread and the fat from cheese helps with the weight loss. It's been slow going for me but I have definetly seen improvement. The main point is to focus on your overall health instead of just the weight loss. Good Luck! Alison oops Sorry... I just realized that last post I made was a bit redundant... Guest guest
Sorry for the typo. I'm taking 1 mg of melatonin. I seem to be doing fine with it. I have never taken any sleep aid before. In fact, I really have never taken much of anything before. Supplements, meds or vitamins. Now that the MS has decided it won't let me ignore it any longer, I guess I'd better know the difference between 1mg and 100mg. I'm sure there will lots of times, in the near future I'll need to know that.
