Guest guest
In my opinion, you are mis-stating the gel dosage- you must mean 10grams and not MG as 1 mg wouldn't be enough to revive a sand flea. Anyway- if you are on 10g, I would ride it out and see what happens...and your Dr. is great! Keep it up. Increase your water intake to 8 glasses a day, which is what everyone should do anyway, and the headaches disappear (or did for me I should say.) Good luck...and I'll bet you feel good by the end of next week. > > Hi everyone! Well, I thought the doc I saw last week was going to > put me on Arimidex with my 3 times a week/500ius HCG shots. Guest guest
Hi Hank, Your Dr. is doing what Dr. trys first he puts his men on Androgel or a cream first then if things don't pan out he the trys shots. Sounds like your in good hands. Yes some men just starting TRT will have there E2 come down and the headache should go away when your body gets use to the new levels of T. Take something for the headache. Just make sure you test E2 next test. Phil maverick_2414 <maverick_2414@...> wrote: Hi everyone! Well, I thought the doc I saw last week was going to put me on Arimidex with my 3 times a week/500ius HCG shots. I have been having high E2 (50 on a range of 15-56) I took the doc the Crisler protocol as well. I told him I would not mind going on the Crisler protocol and don't mind giving myself HCG/Testosterone shots. Well, I get a Fedex box last night thinking its going to be Arimidex but instead its a tube of Testosterone gel (10%) from a compounding pharmacy and some HCG with a ton of insulin syringes. He wants me to do 1mg per day of the test. gel (10%) and 100ius of HCG daily with the insulin syringes. I called his nurse to ask why he went in this direction. She explained that with the gel and the low dose of HCG daily, he thought the E2 would fall in line and the T would go up without the Arimidex. I am 42 years old by the way. I have only done HCG as a therapy and never done Testosterone before so I am kind of excited to see what it does. I started the regimen this morning. I have a headache. Will that go away? Does it take time to get used to the gel? Anyone know how long it takes to get used to the gel? Is 1mg a day of 10% gel a big dose? I would rather have done shots but he wants gel to keep my E2 down. So I guess I am on a version of the Crisler protocol in a way with testosterone gel and HCG. Go to see doc in 5- 6 weeks for follow up labs. The doc is really cool in my opinion. Likes HCG,HGH, etc. He wants to see how I feel as well as check my labs which I like. Most docs look at labs as gospel and don't consider how you feel so I think this doc has my best interests at heart. Any comments about this protocol good/bad are grealy appreciated! thanks, Hank
Guest guest
Dave, thanks for the feedback! I am new to the gel so you are probably right. Its a big syringe with 60 " doses " of about a dime size amount per dose. Does that sound correct? I have already started drinking more water as I write this. Don't like headaches but then again, who does! All the best, Hank > > > > Hi everyone! Guest guest
First thing is 10% compounded creams are 2 to 3 times stronger this androgel or testim. But my old script says 10 mgs. even. I put 5 mgs on each forearm and this was the highest dose you could do. So 1mg sounds low. Phil maverick_2414 <maverick_2414@...> wrote: Dave, thanks for the feedback! Guest guest
Phil, thanks for the reply. I saw your other message about my dosage on the gel and it concerned me a bit. I got the 10% testosterone gel with a 1ml dosage per day (about the size of a dime). You commented that it was a small amount and I agree. Do you think I should ask for a higher dose? I am on this 1mg and 125ius of HCG daily. Retest in 60-80 days per doc. I have to mention that I follow the antidepressant messages on here very intensely. I have been on 50mg of Paxil for years. I am very suspicious that my " depression " might have been low testosterone all along. I want to get feeling good on the TRT and then talk with my Dr. about getting off the Paxil. thanks! Guest guest
Hank, 2 years ago, I came off 20 mgs. of Paxil (and am now on 5 mgs. of Prozac - ie. not even medicinal dosage). Paxil is one bear of a drug to get off of/switch from!! Do it gradually, please. Check out www.paxilprogress.com or .org for advice and counsel. Don't do it alone and always go slower than you think and under the care of a doctor!!! I absolutely believe that my issues and needs for AD meds. was tied solely to low T - as I never had " depressive symptoms per se " and never got anywhere with talk therapy. I was still lethargic, cold, without libido, no a.m. wood and tired. I have been this way as a kid, for as long as I can remember, now 38. For me depression was a symptom, but not the cause, as I and many had thought for too many years. Happy to discuss with you more about Paxil to Prozac or whatever Blessings, Bill > > Hi everyone! Guest guest
Hank, It is bad medicine to me to put one on a new med. like a compounded cream and not test you in 4 weeks you need to call him if you don't start to feel the T workng and get a test. Go to www.allthingsmale.com and read TRT: A Recipe for Success the follow up tests you need are in this. Phil maverick_2414 <maverick_2414@...> wrote: Phil, thanks for the reply. Guest guest
Phil, I just started the gel last Friday with the HCG. It looks like it takes a few weeks to start working from what I have read on here and MESO. If I don't feel it by then, I am going to call the doc and let him know. Also, ask him to do a blood test as you advise. Will keep the discussion group posted on how I feel. thanks, Hank > > Hi everyone! Guest guest
Bill, Thanks for your feedback! I am not planning on doing anything with the Paxil until I get everything working on the TRT therapy. I have heard horror stories about getting off of Paxil. If I have missed a dose in the past, its amazing. You get withdrawal symptons and they are not pretty. I am hopeful that by late summer or early fall, I can ask my doc about going off the Paxil (or reducing) if I feel good about TRT. It makes me sad to hear stories like yours. I can SO relate. I started having trouble with anxiety/depression in my 20s. I also had trouble with ED then some too. Possible low T? I am 42 now. If we only had someone that would have directed us to a doc back then to check out our blood levels, we might not have had to endure what we had to go through. However, I feel blessed to have found out about my issues now. Got a wife, a little boy and another child on the way. I want to get to be the best I can be for me and most importantly my family too! thanks, Hank > > > Hi everyone!
