E2 is too high - consider arimidex.

Arkansas - my 2 cents

Progesterone: 0.9 (0.2-1.4)

The fact that you had an MRI of the Pituitary indicates that these

are not the first time you and your doctor has seen results like

this. Your Total Testosterone is rather low and since your SHBG is

in the middle of the range it's possible that your Free, and bio-

available, Testosterone is low as well. Since your labs indicate

secondary cause of your low Testosterone I would also test for other

Hypothalamus / Pituitary hormones as well. I'd include TSH, Free T3

and Free T4 to test thyroid function.

So bottom line I'd get follow-up tests that include at least the

following:

Bio-available Testosterone (which includes Total T, Bio-T, SHBG,

Albumin)

TSH

Free T3

Free T4

After these are back I'd go from there. Sadly many doctors may look

at your Total T being in the normal range and discount a

hypogonadism diagnosis. This would be a mistake as the real

critical test how much Testosterone is available for binding to

Testosterone receptor sites on cells around your body and this is

only measured in Free Testosterone and Bio-available Testosterone.

Also thyroid dysfunction could easily explain your symptoms as well.

All I can say is do all the testing you can find out about before going on T

meds. And if kids are an issue get your sperm checked and if good have some

frozen. Go to this site www.allthingsmale.com and read TRT: A Recipe for

Success and his HCG Update also in the front part are the tests he does and why.

how long have u had the symptoms? im assuming ur not on any TRT...right?

ur FSH levels are too low...do u have kids? or want any? should get a semen

analysis...as u look like u are secondary hypogonadism.

just my thoughts.

Jack, Phil, Dan, et. al.

I have pretty much had symptoms like this most of my life. I went

through puberty and following years in " 2nd gear " (I got down the

higway, so to speak, but I was going 20 mph and most were going

70+!). It was explained away as depression, anxiety and panic.

Testosterone was never checked and never considered an issue. I

thought I was just " born this way " , without lust, sexual interest or

strength/power.

I was finally diagnosed in 2003, at 35, as secondary and put on

Clomid 50mgs. 3x week. The results were amazing, with feeling

great, seemingly smart, morning wood, general sexual interest, etc.

My doctor, an endo, was concerned with my T being around 1100 (and

LH and FSH way UP), so he lowered it to 25 mgs. 3x and those

feelings never returned for paqst 2-3 years - again symptoms were

explained by others incl. doctors as my being depressed (which I am

not), stressed (not), etc. Recently, I made an appointment with a

Reprod. Endo. here in Boston at Mass General and had this blood work

done as an initial read (as I have been off Clomid since Dec. - my

doctor tried T replacement of DEPO at 200 mg. and then 300 mgs.

every 18 days and as Phil points out, this wasn't right and felt

like crap).

I don't have kids, because I never had the sexual interest, urge or

strength to be interested in kids or foremost, in a wife. I would

love to explore this side of my life and think I would be a pretty

good dad.

Here's the question/issue: What I most fear is the new endo.

saying, " YOU'RE FINE. THERE ISN'T ANYTHING WRONG WITH YOU. THERE IS

NOTHING I CAN DO. IT IS A RESULT OF DEPRESSION, ETC..... " I have

heard this my whole life and here I am, still unclear of a protocol

and still suffering.

How do you all deal with family members/friends/doctors who say get

on with it and stop obsessing about T, energy, etc.???

Bless you for your honesty and commitment to helping others,

Bill

Phil,

On your regimin, what does your Total T read or at least range? I

know you are not 38, but my recent level of 444 makes me feel like I

am 70 or 80. What should it be??

Newbie Q.....

Am I correct that a low FREE T or BIOAV is worse than a low Total T

due to usage availability from being bound to SGBH??

Thanks,

I don't deal with them they are not in my body or head so how the hell can

anyone tell your or me to get on with it. You do like I and a lot of others

have done keep looking for a good Dr that will treat you. I feel if you did

good on clomid then you would do great on HCG don't take no for an answer tell

him to let you try it start with 500 IU's 3 times a week and test after the 15th

shot. Or fly out and see Dr. then he will treat you over the phone or by

Email. Go to www.allthingsmale.com when your there read TRT: A Recipe for

Success and his HCG Update. Hell print this and show it to your Dr.

Bill I do a shot of Depo T 64 mgs. every 3 days and the day before the T shot I

do a 250 IU shot of HCG. Doing this has my Total T at 900 range 262 to 1598 so

this puts me in the upper 1/3 of the labs range. I take a .5mg pill of Arimidex

to help keep my Estradiol down. You need your levels much higher your 444 is

noraml for a man 80 to 100 yrs old. Here are some links.
