Guest guest
This is the one that I got and really like it. Both myself and my DH use it and like it. We have had it about 3 months now and use it almost every day. It comes with a ceramic heater, most do not. It sets ups really fast, easy to use control panel and gets really hot. There are different heat levels. http://www.amazon.com/Sauna-Portable-Large-Size-Infrared/dp/B001L19GB6/ref=sr_1_\ 5?ie=UTF8 & s=hpc & qid=1242932263 & sr=8-5 Hope this helps. in MN Twyla wrote: > Hi > > Can anyone please recommend a really good, reliable, cost- effective brand portable Ifrared FIR sauna (the one person, one minute set-up kind for small space like a clinic room) - if you've had personal experience with one? > > I've been looking at some on the web but the info is sometimes contradictory and I don't have much time to do the research. I wouldn't advise that kind but if you find something good, would you please share it with us as I would also like to get one..but very reasonable. ************** Recession-proof vacation ideas. Guest guest
I can't help you with sourcing, as I am in Australia, and I can't find one exactly like I bought a few years ago. This is similar and may be what you are thinking of: http://www.alwaysdirect.com.au/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result & search\ _in_description=0 & zenid=d5f53184467f9497ca90580a1972342b & keyword=sauna & gclid=CPq\ 5-f6w858CFc4vpAodSjmQXg I paid a whole heap more than that for it, though. Although it says you can set it up in one minute, I've never found it that quick. I didn't find the manual or on line support much good, but a woman at the place I bought it gave me a few tips over the phone. (She was actually expecting me to return it, I think.) Mine is different in that there are two fan heaters on the floor of the tent. The disadvantage of these is that it blows hot air on your legs, which I overcome by resting my feet on the top, with a flannel under my foot. Also, when the fan stops, a blast of hot air rises. But as one knows what to expect, one simply relocates ones feet. If I had been able to buy one like the model above, with the panels on the wall, I would probably have preferred that, but I have no experience of how they work. There was a bit of gassing off of the fabric of the tent when it was new, but that passed. I found it very convenient, and I have been known to pack it in the car and take it away with me (but the lady for whom I did that did not like this style at all, and bought a timber and glass one, which she rarely gets around to using as it is in the garage.) Also, one can pack it up and put it under a bed if the space is needed for other things. If one moves, there is not a heavy, fragile cabin to shift. I would not have been able to afford or find room for a glass and timber cubicle, and have been satisfied with this unit once I got to know it. It can take a while for your body to let go of the sweat, but once it learns to sweat again, it sweats easily. Heh heh. I am sure you know you must be sure to replenish your body fluid and electrolytes. Drink plenty, and have minerals or Real Salt / Himalayan Salt / Celtic salt in the water. Treat the towels you mop up with as contaminated and wash separately. Cool shower afterwards to stop the sweating is recommended (but I don't use cool water). You think you can read a book while in there, with your arms sticking out the zip slits, but in practice it is not convenient, any more than having a cup of tea that way! In any case, one is busy mopping up the dripping sweat before too long. As toxins or chemicals stored in your body are released you may get a reminder of them by way of the smell in the sweat.
