Unfortunately, yet another threat to the availability of nutritional

supplements, and our therapy, has recently reared its head in Congress, this

time courtesy of Senator McCain. Currently, McCain is trying to

generate support for his legislation, still in its early stages, entitled

The Dietary Supplement Safety Act. The noble wording of the bill may sound

wonderful - as such documents do - but its real purpose seems to be to

enlarge FDA power over supplements and disassemble the Dietary Supplement

Health and Education Act (DSHEA) of the early 1990's which prevented the FDA

from classifying nutrients as drugs, or arbitrary banning particular

supplements at a whim.

Outwardly, the bill claims to be driven by the usual wish to " protect "

consumers from themselves, a stance prompted by the recent cases of a number

of professional athletes misusing certain hormones. Those with knowledge of

Washington suspect that the real motivation is the FDA's universal wish to

severely restrict the availability of most if not all nutritional

supplements.

This beast seems to rear its ugly head every so often, as this is not the first

time. Big pharm 'lobbies', ($ by the suitcasefull to congress) and they keep

hoping they'll be able to sneak it by us.

The 'Obama-care health plan' legislation has a provision that would prevent us

from ordering Rx. drugs from outside the country.Also, no doubt at the behest of

big pharm, under the guise of protecting us from ourselves.Who is gonna protect

us from Congress? Flush twice, its a long way to Washington D.C.!!!WE, the

people are supposed to be the main 'check' (as in checks and balances) on

Congress.But they conceal what they do, in closed door meetings, complicated

wording, and just hoping that the average citizen is too caught up in living

their life to notice what they are doing.Before we even think about reforming

healthcare, we need to reform Congress! Vote ALL the Bums out! Jim

where is the info in the proposed health bill to not get med's from anywhere but

the US. The natural thyroid med's are in jeopardy in the US. We are getting them

It is legal to get your thyroid meds from Canada. The FDA lifted restrictions.

This is beyond the scope of this group.

If we do not speak upon this issue there will be no available iodine or nutrients to heal our thyroids or our faimilies thyroids..

This is a crucial issue. Write to your congressmen now opposing the attempt by Mc Cain

to bring in any alteration to the way we are getting our minerals and vitamins.

Notice that this action by Mc Cain will concentrate the power of whether you can get vitamins in the hands of doctors who not alone are not infomed about vitamins and minerals but they are linked through information and kickbacks to the Pharmacuetical industry

whose clear aims are to keep people in an unhealthy condition. The benefit for

Pharma is that they will supply drugs to assist people with their health problems and force them to take pills for life. The average american over 60 takes 30 tablets a day!!!

The number of vaccinations has increased exponetially over the years for diseases which

the fear driven media campaign by Pharma makes people believe they are in urgent need of .

The truth is they are lying at every turn. Why did 120,000 people die from the anti inflammatory drug Vioxx.?Don't the scientists and doctors know what they are doing?

Aren't all drugs tested for safety and efficacy? Aren't the cost benefits analysis on this and multiple other drugs,correct? The truth is the scientists and doctors lied about the value

of Vioxx to the FDA as court papers showed. They dismissed any studies which showed the drug in a negative light!! In fact it later emerged that there were no investigations as to

the efficacy of the drug. They submitted paperwork which did not emerge from any studies it was "manufactured"by Pharma for approval by the FDA. It was a tissue of lies. And the consequences were all pain and suffereing for the victims and their family. And it seems despite these revelations those responsible are allowed to walk!!! Act immediately to protect the interests of you and your family..write your congressman and have him stamp on this greed driven bill...

The pharm.companies falsify their research studies and the FDA lets them get away with it.I read that the people who go to work for the FDA are the very ones who worked in the labs for Big Pharma.Synthetic drugs with are not bioidentical to the human body and in themselves cause disease.That oringinal post to stop McCain with his bill states to send a letter or fax to leave a paper trail because they will just delete an email.
