I cannot offer suggestions but can tell you of experiences. During my wife's

six weeks in the hospital due to a head-on auto collision a clot and eventual

lymphedema developed in her legs. It was explained that the Coumadin was not to

dissolve the clot but rather prevent further clots.

A 'filter' was put in to supposedly catch any 'pieces' of the clot from breaking

off and finding its way to the lungs. Later, while home and wile experiencing

terrible side effects one the loss of hearing a direct result of Coumadin, I

decided to have a discussion to see if something could be done to do away with

what is obviously poison.

With my wife was no longer bed-ridden I wondered why the need for thinner than

normal blood and discussed this with an Internist, not a Cardiologist. My

thought was, if her blood work is 'normal', and she's not sedentary, why have

her blood thinner than normal especially since the 'clot' was already Canalized

(the body found a path around it) and a Ultrasound showed that and good flow?

The Internist agreed and we instead worked with Fish Oil, Vitamin E, and Vitamin

C. That was two years ago. Keep in mind 'they' believe the clots for because

of the being in bed for a long time as well as the trauma of an accident or

surgery.

Many people do not suffer hearing loss from Coumadin use but I find it

horrendous to put 'rat poison', what Warfarin really is, in our bodies

especially an already damaged body.

Additionally a person that writes up medical studies sent me an interesting

study in which 'they' found that the Filters used to avoid the problem of

wayward clots show no evidence that it prolongs life. The filter, because of

the length of time in the body cannot be removed as it becomes a part of the

body. Find yourself a good practitioner that will monitor blood levels re

clotting and try to get on more natural and beneficial supplements which would

provide other benefits besides avoiding clots. I would not undertake this

without close monitoring which in our case was blood tests on a regular basis,

long since stopped. The fish oil has been maintained as well as the Vitamin D.

Good luck

Subject: [ ] need advice/suggestions

My current dr. (living in a new area, regular dr. not here) put me on Lovinox

shots (for 6 days) and coumadin last week for blood clots in legs (unrelated to

the cancer). I have been feeling worse and worse every since I started this -

and am afraid of undoing all the good that I have done over the last 14 months

on my own - I have LC, stage 4. Went natural. And my xrays show no change at all

in 14 months - no growth, no new tumors, no fluid in lungs - nothing, no change.

And I felt good, maintained my weight, blood work excellent.

Now I feel lousy.

Any advice/suggestions on this? I just want off this stuff, want to get back on

my feet and feel like living again.

Thanks
