Guest guest
Carol, I am among the first to testify to the value of placebos, and many fads are placebos, but many aren't. There was a time when I would do custom synthesis for AIDS buyer's groups. I was making pentamidine (which also kicks up many cancer therapies), dextran sulfate, silver-2-oxide, etc. Most of these worked but they were largely faddish. No sooner than I would make them then the buyer's groups would lose interest and scream for the next big thing. I didn't need the hassle and sent their business elsewhere. I don't dismiss a therapy because it is a fad, but I won't work with those things where I can't see the logic and I think there is no end to the list of such things.
