Consumers Union AdvocacyWe need to demand that Food Safety be made a mandatory

practice because Organic Farming has the potential for abuses as well.

" Natural " - " Free Range " and other words indicating our preferences might be

Minerva Novoa,

Advocacy Web Administrator Dear ph,

They're back - back to school that is. But what will all

those kids eat now that eggs, peanut butter, lettuce and even Spaghetti-0s

recently have been recalled for dangerous contamination?

When we can't even trust the eggs in our refrigerators,

there's obviously a problem with our food safety system. A new report on the

companies that produced the recalled eggs found chickens living among rodents,

maggots and -foot-high piles of manure!

Let's stop wasting time and money tracking down unsafe

food after the fact, and prevent these outbreaks before they happen! A bill that

will focus on prevention and inspection, and hold food producers accountable for

safety, has been stuck in the Senate for nearly a year! Send an email now

demanding Senators pass common-sense food safety when they return after Labor

Day!
