Guest guest
I recently had my follow-up one year after removal of a mets to my lung from rectal adenocarcinoma 4 years prior... I'm NED, but not without a lot of head scratching. If I had gone for only a CAT I'd be back in the hospital having a biopsy or worse. The PET identified the mass as a cavitation and bronchiectasis, complications from my surgeries last year (the stories too long to tell again..two thoracotomies, lung leak, 6 months with a chest drain tube..a year lost..ongoing coughing up yech...I've become a champion spitter). I am fortunate that my oncologist took the time with two radiologists at my cancer center to meticulously scrutinize the fusion study. The uptake of the radioactive sugar tracer (PET)in the mass in my right lung (place of my lobectomy for lung cancer) was not consistent with a " hypermetabolic " profile indicative of cancer. Although the readings were higher than a benign mass or normal tissue, it was not as high as my last PET when the lung lesion was pronounced malignant. The upshot of this most costly study was that I got a new lease for a while on life, NO CANCER any where in my body at this time... Yippee for all the things, and everyone, and all the prayers and, well, like the academy award for life, I'd like to thank God, my spouse, my relatives, friends, support group buddies, supplements, macrobiotic diet,(modified to add a little fish and supplements) Resonant Light Machine, sunlight and exercise, the heavens above and,and,and...well you get the picture. If it's God's will, I'll be around a bit longer! Yours in Peace, Independent Investigation, Hope, Healing and a thought: " Spirit has influence; prayer has spiritual effect. " Keep your spirits up no matter what your prognosis...if you're reading this you are still alive and there is always Hope! Dr.
