Guest guest
Toni, I buy Iodoral from Vitamin Research Products. It's around $28 per bottle of 100 tablets, I think. I read an article in the VRP newsletter that says iodoral is recommended for treating breast cancer. You can look it up in their archives, and it's worth reading, as they cited some case histories. I don't have cancer, but I take iodoral for thyroid support, and I think it works for me. I've never had any side effects from it. > > I read that a product called Iodoral helps treat and prevent breast cancer. Has anyone had success with it? Where is the best place to get it? > Toni >
Guest guest
There are several websites selling it. VRP even sells the iodine urine test kit. For more info on iodine and breast cancer see http://www.breastcancerchoices.org/iodine In a message dated 7/25/2006 astrolog writes: <<Toni, I buy Iodoral from Vitamin Research Products. Guest guest
Iodine is also a very powerful fat emulsifier. Not many are aware of this.
Guest guest
Hi everyone, Just to add to the info. re iodine and health.... The USRDA for iodine was increased to approx. 150 mcg. per day within the past year or so. Many doctors think that it is still too low. In Japan the average daily intake of iodine is 12.5 mg (1000 mcg. = 1 mg). Japan has fewer cases of cystic breast disease, uterine fibroids, cystic ovaries, breast cancer and other feminizing cancers and...in general, lower cases of hypothyroidism. One of the reason women have a higher incidence of low thyroid function than men, is because they have to share their iodine with their breasts and ovaries. It has been estimated that this increase in the USRDA for iodine will more than double the number of cases of hypothyroidism that will now be diagnosed...and they thought our low energy was all in our heads...! Have a wonderful and blessed day... Lynne Lwayok@... wrote: Iodine is also a very powerful fat emulsifier. Guest guest
A book, worth reading, is 'Iodine, why you need it why you can't live without it' by Brownstein, M.D. VRP recently had it on sale for $10.00 however I do not know if it is still on sale. Guest guest
-Tony: I appreciate the leg work and wanted to know the dosage of iodine you should take and would it be smarter to test first to see a definite deficiency before you just start something? I would then assume the urine/iodine test would be the simplest one to get and use? Hadn't really heard much about iodine till ya'll started to discuss it. Thanks again. Guest guest
Fran, You really should get tested first. There is a group of breast cancer patients collecting the data from the iodine loading test and working together on seeing their progress. Dr. Flechas lab (FFP) will send you the test for $80 and do a free phone consult in which he'll tell you how much Iodoral to take. I have taken the test myself and feel iodine has had a good effect. Go to: _http://breastcancerchoices.org/IodineInvestigation.html_ (http://breastcancerchoices.org/IodineInvestigation.html) and see the box with the 800 number to get the test. Let us know how you do. Guest guest
Lynne: From all I am reading it sounds like testing is the way to go and then taking Iodoral to increase the iodine level is a good choice on supplements? Thanks for all your information, I did find the test site and will order one and see where I'm at. One of the breast cancer patients in our group was taking Lugol's Iodine for six months then took the test, expecting it to be normal by then. Her Iodine test came back in the 40s (should be around 90). When she switched to Iodoral she felt completely different. It seems to absorb better or is stronger. She's going to retest in 3 months. > > L. > > I am in Australia so cant do the test that you send away for in the US. >
