Guest guest
>> Its funny isn't it, my son is 6 and for as long as I can remember he has said things like that. I wonder if anyone has studied that. << My daughter (the one who ground to a halt at long division) almost taught herself to read--she just needed minimal help. But often she'd come out with something and we'd ask, " Where did you learn THAT? " Her answer has always been, " Nobody taught me, I just knew. " Basically, that's it. If doesn't 'just know it' and can't teach herself it, she's never going to learn it. Her way of learning is just to ask questions--she'll call me several times a day at work with one or another that my wife couldn't answer. My AS dad had two older brothers who were very bright but don't seem to have had the classic AS symptoms. Yet the oldest one, the day he turned 5 and could finally go to school, said " the five on the calendar is laughing. " Sounds like some form of synethsesia to me. Is this common for Aspies to look forward to starting school? I know I sure did, although Lord knows we often wonder what we were thinking once we finally get there.
