Guest guest
Hi All:Please tell me I am not the only parent of an Aspie who could probably disassemble and reassemble the space shuttle blindfolded, but CAN NOT TIE HIS SHOES!!!!Actually, he CAN tie his shoes, it just takes him forever and I feel like I spend my entire morning saying ", tie your shoes. , TIE your shoes! , tie your SHOES!" He knows how to tie them, but he has this whole routine of making sure the laces are even, then he can never get the knot quite the way he wants, then he has to add about twelve double-knots. It's like he gets lost in this dreamworld of shoe tying and I have to wake him up and remind him that, hello, mommy has to go to work and you have to go to school. Could we focus, please? And why does it upset me so much that he has such trouble with this one piddly little task? Would I be the world's worst mother if I just stopped buying shoes with laces that need to be tied and just stick to slip-ons?Gees, it's only 9:45 a.m. and I could really use a drink! Thanks for letting me vent.Patti
