Guest guest
Hey everyone, I have a questions for those of you with children in elementary school. My son Jakob is in the Autstic LD Special Ed Program with Inclusion. He was in the Behavioral Service Program. I had him changed because I didn't think they were dealing with the real issue. They always say he is " defiant " , I hate that word, its just a fancy way of saying your child is BAD! Which I do not believe he is bad, I believe he was BORED! I asked them " well, what program are the other AS children in? " Yeah, they just looked at me. The BSP teacher told the Autistic Specialist that she never saw one trait of AS in Jakob. I asked her if she had and M.D. folowing her last name! I do not think they believe me even though the doctors have sent them a full evaluation, etc.. Sorry about the spill. My questions are: 1. What program are your children in? 2. How do I get them to understand Jakob and AS? 3. Should I continue to let him be mainstreamed even if I believe he'd be better off in a very small setting? Thanks for all your support and helping to ease our minds!
