Guest guest
Wow, hadn't heard that, those articles were really interesting! Thanks for sharing this, I'm going to share it with another group I'm in too! > > Anyone heard of Oxytocin nasal spray as an effective treatment for Asperger's? Guest guest
I DID SOME RESEARCH ABOUT IT A FEW YEARS AGO. IT LOOKED VERY PROMISING TO ME. HOWEVER, WHAT SWAYED ME FROM PURSUING IT AS A TREATMENT FOR MY DAUGHTER WERE THE POSSIBILITIES OF HORMONAL UPSET. I'VE HAD A HISTORY OF OVARIAN CYSTS RUPTURING. SO I HELD OFF. IT'S A GOOD THING TO BECAUSE AT 15 SHE'S ALREADY HAD A CYST THAT CAUSED HER ENOUGH PAIN TO END UP IN THE ER FOR A SONOGRAM. I WONDERED IF YOU COULD GET SOME GOOD RESULTS FROM GIVING MASSAGES ON A REGULAR BASIS TO STIMULATE OXYTOCIN. http://www.oxytocin.org/oxytoc/ I WHEN I REALIZED THAT IT'S THE DRUG THAT IS USED TO INDUCE LABOR, THAT GAVE ME PAUSE TO THINK. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxytocin#Potential_adverse_reactions IT SEEMS TO BE SUGGESTED AS GENERALLY SAFE FOR ADULTS WITH AUTISM. THAT WOULD MAKE SENSE TO ME BECAUSE YOUR REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM IS NO LONGER IN IT'S GROWTH STAGE...UNTIL A MAN BUYS HIS FIRST CONVERTIBLE OR HOG AND A WOMAN SWEATS THROUGH HER FIRST PAIR OF PJS AND THE BED SHEETS AS WELL. LOL. /post?act=reply & messageNum=\ 140360 I'D REALLY LIKE TO BE ABLE TO FIND SOME TESTIMONIALS AND SEE STUDY RESULTS. IT LOOKS PROMISING AND RISKY AT THE SAME TIME...MUCH LIKE ANYTHING ELSE WE TRY ON OUR CHILDREN. http://www.healing-arts.org/children/autism-overview.htm#Oxytocin%20and%20Vasopr\ essin%20in%20Autism THIS LAST ARTICLE HAD A LOT OF INTERESTING INFO IN IT. GLAD THIS SUBJECT WAS BROUGHT UP. -BETSY > > > > Anyone heard of Oxytocin nasal spray as an effective treatment for Asperger's? Guest guest
Thanks for your research, Chris! Yes, I too found it interesting that Oxytocin is Pitocin. They used Pitocin on me to induce labor with my Asperger's child. I've heard they've been investigating the Pitocin-induced link as well. Guest guest
Joyce, Search the archives -- it was discussed quite a bit with the Respen A patch several weeks ago. > > Has anyone tried this ? > I have read that this is a good treatment for autism. > Could anyone comment on this product? > Thanks so much. > Joyce. >
