Hi everybody,

I would like to share with you another story regarding renting room to students.

As you know I provide housing to college students. It is easy to guess that the students that come to me have some sort of personality, adjustment or problem, that is the reason they can not live on campus.

This semester I had a student that could not deal with the peer pressure and went back home. Depression is very high on college students, so I advised the mother to have him in couseling. He left and I have my room empties again, because I need money to pay my mortgage, I panicked and advertised the third floor furniture rooms.

Guess what happened, I took my chances and gave the third floor rooms to a 18 year old couple that were homeless.. Both of them have ADHD, but they work in a restaurant. They are in love and were so thankful I trusted them and gave them a chance...( They do not know I am scare to take the chance with them...lol)

I never rent my rooms to homeless children, but my mother instinct overpower my commun sense...and I felt sorry for them and thought about my son.....

I hope I did not make any mistake on renting the room to them. So far, they are very good, they are taking their medicine, they are working and they are paying the rent...I told them if I ever see drugs or alcohol they were be out in a minute...

So far they have been doing ok...

The department of social servicesthrow them out of the system when they are 18, then those kids become homeless....

I decided to share this story to assure you as a parent YOU ARE DOING THE RIGHT THING IN HELPING YOUR CHILDREN. ALL OF YOU ARE FANTASTIC PARENTS...

Oh, that's great you took them in. Glad you feel, so far, that they will be

good tenants/roomers. Must have had it rough if they were in foster care

previously. The system does suck, once they turn 18. No money, no home. I

know NC is doing something about following them until they are 21 now, but don't

know what state might provide though as they are still aged out of foster care.
