Guest guest
Pam, Dr. Neubrander's office did a 5 week trial of NCD with some kids and found no levels of any metals being chelated. The NCD supporters said the dose they used was too high, but noticing some there are using high dose NCD. There is another long term study, either started or soon to be, but this will be a long time coming. It may be helpful to know that components of NCD are used to rid water of ammonia, this may be the benefit of NCD as thinking there are a lot of kids with borderline high ammonia levels helped by NCD. I agree this stuff is marketed in just about as sleazy of a way it can be, really turns you off. It is simply minerals and aluminum, the aluminum part is worrisome to me as I wouldn't think it is a good idea to put heavy metals back in the body while we're spending so much time trying to get them out. The bottom line is it has helped some kids, but it's not a cure or a chelator until it is proven to be. Boyd Hayley also weighed in saying it is not a chelator. Too bad, really too bad, no night dosing with this stuff, I was pulling for it. But very grateful for the improvements it has brought to some kids who were not improving on other methods. Re: [ ]Deanne/was: chelation thoughts/NCD If NCD is a chelator, shouldn't the NCD people be able to prove it aside from talking basic chemistry? Is there any scientific proof that if I ingest liquid zeolites it will bind to mercury and allow it to safely leave my body? Can they show a urine test or stool test or something like that (if that is proof; I don't even know). All of these phone conference links and sugary-sweet comments sound so familiar (the " I don't dare give out Marcy's email or he'll be overwhelmed with phone calls " stuff). I was given a sales pitch for a protein powder/nutritional supp at an off-leash dog park and agreed to listen in on one of these phone conference calls. It was almost the same script; this all makes me nervous. I can't tell people who see positive changes that NCD isn't helping them, but it would be nice to know if they were chelating or not!
