Guest guest
Although I've only read good things about it, I've been somewhat apprehensive about S. Boulardii, because its a type of yeast. But it is supposed to get rid of candida, though. I'm planning to try the enzymes later, for now I didn't want to overwhelm our daughter with so many changes at once. We only started the dietary changes a couple months ago. Besides the one with FOS, I also tried a probiotic with maltodextrin filler, and that didn't work as well either. Maybe it is the additive, like you said. I wouldn't have thought potato starch would work the best, though, but that's what we've experienced so far. I love lactobacillus sporogenes by Thorne and Primadophilus Reuteri (lacto. rhamnosus, lacto. reuteri, lacto. acidophilus) by Nature's way. Guest guest
We also use ThreeLac successfully and my daughter did well on Houston Chewable acidopholous. Amy PS could it be the FOS? My son doesn't do well with that. > > > > Hi, > > I also have a child who runs on the constipated side and have tried > many probiotics. I have not founds Kirkman's to be great, > actually. Guest guest
We have been using Culturelle and Primal Defense with great success. At one point I purchased the Kirkman's Super Pro-Bio and my son had diahrrea the entire time (almost a month). Our DAN doctor said 3/4 of her patients are allergic to Kirkman's probiotics. > > > > > > Hi, > > > > I also have a child who runs on the constipated side and have > tried > > many probiotics. Guest guest
Thank you for this post! I recently changed from the Kirkman's Pro- bio gold which worked good for us, to the Super Pro-bio. I don't think she has had a formed stool since. I felt that the loose stools were probably from chelation or anti-virals, but now I am wondering if it is the probiotic!! Think I will switch back to the pro-bio gold or maybe try something different altogether. Who makes the Primal Defense?? Guest guest
You are so welcome! Primal Defense is made by Garden Of Life. My son has been using it for almost 2 years now as directed by our naturopath. I should warn you, that it contains FOS (apparently it shouldn't be used with OLE for some reason??) which some children have issues with... fortunately mine does not. Our DAN swears by Culturelle products. I thought I was " smart " by ordering Kirkman's super industrial strength probiotic (Super Pro-Bio) when actually it did WAY more harm than good and unfortunately for my son we didn't know it until the bottle was almost empty. I give my child one Culturelle in the morning on an empty stomach and one Primal Defense in the afternoon with his protein shake. We also added ViraStop (1X per day) and my son is finally having beautiful bowel movements that I have bragged to my family about! lol. Ten days ago I removed all dairy products, added Virastop, Culturelle, and dropped the Kirkman's product. We have seen remarkable positive changes in our son since. Thank you Lord!!! Best of luck to you. Tina > > > > > > > > > > Hi, > > > > > > > > I also have a child who runs on the constipated side and have > > > tried > > > > many probiotics. Guest guest
Hi Tina Congratulations to you and that is great to know. It's amazing how important those beautiful stools are to all of us!! We use Culturelle too and have good luck with it. But I also like to use a good multi-strain as well, in addition to the Culturelle. I guess we won't be able to use Primal Defense since she takes OLE so I'm glad you mentioned that. I'll have to go with something else. Thinking about maybe trying Klair's as I've heard they are good too. Thanks so much for the info.
