Guest guest
, My son is only two but we have the same problem. My son is very tall though. I finally figured out that a belt works for him! His pants stay up with a belt. Also Gymboree pants all have elastic in the inside with buttons to hook the elastic on and are adjustable to be quite small. Even with the elastic tightened as much as we could, he still needs a belt to keep the pants up. It's a pain when your pants are falling down all the time!!! lol. Guest guest
Gap started it but many brands now carry pants with adjustable waistbands like Darla described. My son needs a 5 or a 6 for the length but can wear a 4 in the waist. So I buy him 5 or 6 and pull those elastic waist band adusters all the way down. I just recently bought a few nice pairs at the Children's place. Kerrie
Guest guest
I guess you are already using elastic-waist type pants on your cutie? I don' have much sewing talent myself, but I do know you can go into the waistline tunnel on some and pull the elastic/make it shorter. Or a simple dart? <sewing term. That's all I've got>>I bet another Mom will chime in w/ a solution! Guest guest
Walmart has the kind with the adjustable waist bands also. I just bought size 6 slim for my 8 1/2 year old and still had to pull the bands as far as possible. You may have to resecure the button threads for they sometimes are not much and the button might come off when having to pull as much as we pull. in NC/specialt
Guest guest
We like the adjustable pants from Gymboree. They have cargos right now, but they should be getting in more traditional khaki styles soon. They work both ways -- my daughter is super-skinny but tall and my son is big all around, but normal at waist. Also, track pants would probably work. In the past, the track pants have been proportionally bigger in length than width. Sweats seem to go the other way (big at waist and shorter). Don't forget -- he can always wear a belt. Braided/woven works best, since the whole thing is one big hole. Gap has a good one right now that my son loves and can do by himself (he's four). FYI -- I think it is still Gymbucks time at Gymboree, and their stuff lasts FOREVER. My son is very into " sharp " clothes (button- downs, ties, belts, and " work shoes " , which are loafers), and he's worn his navy pants from there about 40-50 times. Seriously. in NJ > > Hi, > Can anyone tell me what to do? 2T pants kind of fit my son at the waist but most are too big and slide down. However, 2Ts are too short. He is 4 and wears 4/5T shirts. Guest guest
Try to find the pants/jeans with the hidden elastic in the waist. You mainly see these at Gap, Oshgosh, Target (Circo), and Old Navy (to 5T). Check the generic jeans in the girls section too. > > Hi, > Can anyone tell me what to do? 2T pants kind of fit my son at the waist but most are too big and slide down. However, 2Ts are too short. Guest guest
My daughter is in the same situation, she is supposed to be 5T but in the waist she is 3T or even 2T sometimes, the advantage with us is that she can wear skirts, although I just went to buy jeans for her, and at the gap they have jeans or pants that can be adjust from the waist, but they are very uncomfortable for her, so I bought ones with elastic waist they fit better and are easy to pull up or down, maybe at old navy you may find some as well. Good luck. Cecilia ---- Meade <jenniferdmeade@...> wrote: > Hi, > Can anyone tell me what to do? 2T pants kind of fit my son at the waist but most are too big and slide down. Guest guest
We used to have this problem. Target also has several styles with the elastic tape inside the pants with buttons on it that adjust. FYI - Once we started the gluten free diet, our clothes fit our age! We used enzymes for over a year and it was helping, but the gluten free diet has done more for weight gain and overall health than anything else we've tried. I still use enzymes when I think he has ingested gluten, but the gluten free diet has become much easier for us and we like it.
