Guest guest
Hi susan, Refusing a particular food for my son means that the food has begun to make him feel bad, perhaps new intolerance's developing. I am glad you stopped vaccination. I really recommend that you put him on all three of the ezymes meaning Zyme Prime (SCD version) and AFP Peptizide in addition to No-Fenol. This way, if there are other hidden things, you can address. Head banging can also mean headaches and inflammation of the brain, though you need not to be alarmed because it is not always so. Yeast overgrowth can cause that too. Elimination diet when it is done in response to correct food is a good idea. But for a while I just kept eliminating food that I thought brought about a reaction and I was wrong about a number of them. A 12 food IgE and 90 food IgG panel (number of labs do this) helped me a lot. Also despite being GFCFSF and almost nut free too, my son requires all Houston enzymes as well as Kirkman carb digest. This is how impaired some of our children digestion can be. I don't see a pediatrician for my son when he is ill either. I try to do it by research and posting here and couple of other groups and use natural treatment that don't have a terrible toxic aftermath like baby tylenol that pediatrician like to load our children on when they are suffering from untreated conditions and are in pain. I think nursing him is a great idea. I nursed mine until two years but had to stop as my son wanted to be nursed literallt every five minutes and I had become his pacifier. You may want to start him on a multivitamin ad multi mineral and additional vitamin C to help his immune system for a couple of months before weaning him. C is really important for body's detox and should be given in smaller doses (250 or so) three times per day. We give total of 1500 mg of C in addition to what mt son gets from his multi vitamin (Brainchild spectrum support II) but the best dose is slightly under what causes the child to have a diarrhea. Also make sure to move him from breast milk to a non-dairy and non-soy and gluten free milk substitute. If you have questions regarding specific supplements, feel free to ask. This is a great group with lots of knowledgeable and very caring people. We are all here for each other and for our children's. Best, Haleh p.s. I know your child isn't ASD but amongst ASD kids it is very common that kids stop eating what they used to like for a few months and then eat it again. I suspect it is their way of roatating their diet. --- slguran <slguran@...> wrote: > Hi, I am new also. My son is not autistic, but I think he would be > had I continued to vaccinate. Guest guest
He may have developed a new sensitivity to one of the foods you used to replae the old allergenic ones. Some of these kids self-limit when they get sick, because they have long ago begun to correlate eating with feeling bad. And the results of your elimination diet last year might not be the same as now. For instance, after years of allergy testing with elimination diets, etc.etc. I had some blood tests done and my most severe allergies were to chicken, bananas and rice...I had been avoiding wheat and potatoes... You could get 96 IgG food allergy tests done with a blood test from Great Plains Laboratories with a doctor's signature. Unless he is having immediate reactions (hives, asthma) after eating something, GPL recommends that you don't waste your money on the IgE tests. Or if you cannot get a doctor to cooperate, you already know how to do an elimination diet. www.gpl4u.com is the web address of Great Plains Labs. I think 96 tests for $200 is a bargain even if you have to pay out of pocket, compared to the alternatives.. Peace, Kathy E. On Mar 25, 2006, at 3:47 PM, slguran wrote: > Hi, I am new also. Guest guest
Thank you for all the great information! How does one administer Zyme Prime (SCD version) and AFP Peptizide? (I have never been able to sneak anything into his food. He seems to know even before he tastes it!) My husband wants me to stop nursing, but I feel that I need to wait until he will eat again. I have been using the Magnesium Sulfate in baths and now as a cream but it seems to be having an adverse effect on him. Could this be? All three nights that we used it he was weepy and hysterical over nothing. Has anyone else experienced this? - , haleh niazmand <halniaz@...> wrote: > > Hi susan, > Refusing a particular food for my son means that the food has begun to make > him feel bad, perhaps new intolerance's developing. > > I am glad you stopped vaccination. > > I really recommend that you put him on all three of the ezymes meaning Zyme > Prime (SCD version) and AFP Peptizide in addition to No-Fenol. Guest guest
Wow! What a bummer . . . we just had my husband do an IgG through York Labs (He has IBS) and paid $380!!! My son goes to the allergist next week. I'm not sure what to do there. We made the appointment last year when he was having a lot of asthma. Now his asthma seems to be gone (??) But I thought I should do the scratch test for peanuts and soy just to make sure he is safe in preschool in that regard. I eliminated peanuts with the elimination diet and when I put them back in, he threw up and that really scared me. Soy he is definitely allergic to more than anything but I don't know if that is an IgG response or an IgE response. Will an allergist know about the IgG test? I'm so glad to find some help here because I've been feeling kind of desperate. I can't always tell my husband because he still isn't sure if I'm crazy or not and it all costs money out-of-pocket, of course! Guest guest
Dear , I have come to regard weepy and over sensitive as a good thing because whenever we added a new supplement that was great for my son it made him weepy and over sensitive for a number of days. For us it is an adjustment period. Similarly, hyperactivity that was combined with alertness is a good thing for the same reasons. I give my very picky childs the chewable enzymes. He won't take them even in litlle tablet form but I melt soy free dark chocolate and dip them in there (the chocolate has to be warm to touch and not hot) then place them individually on a wax paper until harden. Then lable each batch and keep them in the freezer. He gobbles them up because the chewables actually taste good and chocolate takes care of he dry texture of the pill and adds a kick. If you use powder you can mix the powder in the chocolate but it is neither as tasty nor as easy to control the dose. Guest guest
Dianne, We did 12 food IgE and 90 food IgG both through Alletess lab for $125. Our DAN who usually uses expensive labs like immunoscience, Genovations and metamatrix for other things uses Alletess for this one perhaps to have abit of mercy on us. Guest guest
>>At 13 months he was > hospitalized with a severe asthma attack Several years ago I had a severe asthma attack. I got asthma because of a flu shot, which caused my body to have asthma attacks from certain foods. I addressed most of the foods with enzymes, a few I had to remove, and the asthma was gone. Now, after using several supplements, I can eat those foods again, altho some of the foods still give me a smaller/lesser reaction. > had allergies to a lot of foods.
