Guest guest
Hi. My daughter has had the same constipation/impaction issues as your son, identical x-rays, repeatedly! She is now on enzymes, AFP Peptizde and Zyme-Prime, her stools are REGULAR and come REGULARLY!!! My first suggestion before you start the enzymes would be to clean him out with glycerin suppositories, followed by Miralax and aloe vera juice. Then start up on the enzymes. I hope your son has the same successful results as my daughter. Guest guest
Hi He has been taking enzymes along with a number of other suppliments and he is pretty regular now ,but the colon still has that nasty stuff thats just sitting there. I have tried Miralax, soppositories and anema. For him,all that has taken care of the constipation in rectum area and not the upper areas where he has impaction. Thanks for your help though. I havent tried this juice yet.Do you mean aloe vera juice?where do you get it from? Emilie McLaughlin <emiliejmclaughlin@...> wrote: Hi. Guest guest
I would stay as far away from Miralax as you can. It is in the same family as antifreeze and can cause horrendous issues for our kids. You might consider using Magnesium citrate in lieu of the Miralax. Guest guest
Hi, Jaqueline McCandless raves about this product: Oxy-Powder from Oxygen Research Ltd. We tried it with great success. It cleans everything and is perfectly safe. But make sure you have your child at home because it is very effective; our boy had about 6 bms the following day after supplementation. Information can be found at: www.oxypowder.com Good luck > > > > > > have you tried/heard of " oxypowder " ? supposed to be pretty good > and not > > > harsh. i would also look up dr krigsman at thoughtful house and > ask what > > > is > > > recommended. Guest guest
Just so you have all information, Andy Cutler thinks oxypowder is a bad idea because of the germanium in it. A couple of things to consider when constipation is an issue are thyroid function (find a doctor who will run Free T3 and Free T4 tests in addition to TSH and note that a child's Free T3 level should be much high than an adult's - many labs give the wrong reference range), diet and the right enzymes. For some reason I can't quite explain, on a hunch I took out all orange foods from my son's diet - squash and pumpkin were big staples - and he started pooping regularly. I don't know if we have beta-carotene issue or what. My son's poops always tended towards the light brown, which is generally not good and can indicate bile problems, so I ended up giving my son some ox bile (disgusting stuff, but seems to work) in addition to the HNI stuff, which never quite seemed to get us where we needed to go. We now have quite regular poops, although they seem to tend a bit too much toward the green for my comfort. Of course, we also use magnesium (citrate on the rare occasions he needs help these days and otherwise glycinate), copious amounts of Vitamin C (corn free), and tons of water.
