Guest guest
Hi, My 11 month old has been banging her head with her hand repetitively and sometimes pulling her hair really hard. It seems like she does this more often when she's tired or bored. I don't want to jump to conclusions as it's so hard to know what this means (teething? tired? boredom?) I think I read somewhere about there being a possible yeast connection to this type of behavior (?) Anybody kno? Any insights are appreciated. Thanks, ~Terri
Guest guest
It's hard to say without context. What is s/he doing when s/he does this? Laughing? What else is the child doing overall? Does s/he point and clap and wave and have good eye contact? What are his/her stools like? What are his/her sleeping patterns? Josie 11 month old - is this stimming? Guest guest
Thanks. To answer your questions: No, doesn't laugh while doing it. Sometimes she does it while nursing, sometimes just sitting (like in her high chair), other times even while walking. Yes, she points and claps and waves and her eye contact has gotten much better since starting enzymes and the SCDiet. Her stools are still funky though - lately they've been 2 different colors either seperated almost in half or speckled. And her sleeping patterns have ALWAYS been horrendous though her sleep has gotten MUCH better since starting enzymes and the SCdiet too! > > It's hard to say without context. Guest guest
Well. That's great about the pointing and clapping and waving and walking and eye contact. Those are all great milestones in an 11 month old. You should be thrilled!! It sounds like you have a ways to go with the stools though and she isn't tolerating something either you (in your breast milk) or she is eating. I guess I would focus on that. As for your original question.it's still hard to say without seeing her/knowing her, and your mommy gut is probably the best tool you have at your disposal. Trust your instincts!! Guest guest
Thank you for responding Josie. I am thrilled about her progress overall but know that she has mercury poisoning and so now I worry about everything you know? This is all new to me. I just want to make sure I am doing everything I can to help her. > > > > It's hard to say without context. What is s/he doing when s/he > does this? > > Laughing? Guest guest
For my son, viral and bacterial. I'd get serious with some probiotics. My son never pulled his hair, it was shaved, but he did bang his head and bite himself really really hard. 11 month old - is this stimming? These sound like symptoms of yeast in the brain for my kids. http://www.danasview.net/yeast.htm Dana
