Guest guest
For my child, he would repeat certain lines from a TV program or a video over and over. For my kids, it meant they were reciting lines from videos all day, instead of speaking with their own words. This was eliminated by folic acid, anti-virals, and anti-fungals. The folic acid was the most important. Dana
Guest guest
We had major scripting problems, too and they got much better with the anti-viral. First we did Virastop, then added OLE (which is also anti-bacterial). Still in the process, but good improvement with the stimming and GREAT improvement with creative play (which was basically non-existent before). Just wanted to let you know that anti-virals might be the way to go! Guest guest
Thanks Christiane! I'm going to try OLE. Does it come in liquid and/or capsule? How much do I give for a 51 lb. girl?? This is one of her biggest problems so I am really hoping it works. Do you give Virastop and OLE together?? Guest guest
Aubrey, I thought that I would add what helped my son with scripting. He recently, was scripting so often that we couldn't get him to focus on us or even talk to us - it lasted for a few weeks. When I realized that it was a reaction to the medication that he was perscribed from his Ped GI Dr. to treat intestinal inflammation - it was called Pentasa. When I took him off, the scripting stopped within a couple of days. It turns out, this med is high in salicylates. When I consulted his GI about it, it confirmed that this proves that my son has a salicylate sensitivity, which he said is common with a lot of kids on the spectrum. So, now my son is on the feingold diet which eliminates salicylates. Just thought I'd add this info since I wish I knew this a long time ago. budsmom > > > > I hear a lot of you saying your child is scripting. what does that mean? > > Thanks, > > Aubrey > > > >
