Guest guest
I am looking to purchase one of Andy's books, but I can afford only one. I have already ordered the hair elements test, and am waiting on it to arrive. I am wondering which one has the most information on chelating and supplementing. I am going to be chelating without a Dr. so would like as much information as possible about dosing, what to look for in side effects, supplements to help counteract effects, etc. Thanks! Guest guest
I think Amalgam Illness has the best over-all information in it. It tells a lot more. Guest guest
Carmen, Hair Test Interpretation: Finding Hidden Toxicities is easier to read and will allow you to get more help from the results of your hair test. It also gives the basics of chelation. The other book, Amalgam Illness, I harder to understand but contains more information about, well, amalgam illness. It would depend on your situation which book would be the best. If you think you will eventually buy both, it *might* be better to start with the easier one that will help you get started (Hair Test) and then read the other one (Amalgam Illness) after. There is a lot more detail on how to address many symptoms that result from this toxicity. Andy also gives detailed explanation on why low and frequent dosing is best. Personally, I find the book well-organized, but many people complain that it isn't. It is very dense, and most people find it a good reference but not a " good read " . Hair Test Interpretation is often considered more readable. It discusses diagnosis of mercury toxicity via hair tests (which is not discussed in AI). It also includes much information on other toxins that may show up on hair tests and how to address them - including what specific symptoms they may cause, what chelators should be used, and what supplements or other treatments may be helpful. There are a couple of pages on chelation, with all the important how-to points, but there is more in Amalgam Illness. I would suggest two considerations. One is how sick you are - if you are pretty sick and have a lot of symptoms you are having trouble dealing with, I would definitely go with Amalgam Illness. It may be a bit less accessible in terms of style and structure (for some people), but it has vastly more information on how to deal with the problems mercury causes. If you are not that sick, you may be less motivated to read it all and you may not need it as much. Another consideration is whether you have other toxins. If you have reason to believe mercury is the biggest issue (you have tied your symptoms to mercury exposure and have no reason to suspect other toxins), then Amalgam Illness may be of greater interest to you. If you have other toxins like lead, arsenic, or others (which you may have even if they don't show up on the hair test), then HTI might be more valuable. There may be other considerations as well. I'm just offering a few points that come to mind. --
Guest guest
Consider asking your local library to order a copy of each of his books. I'd add that if you're looking for an intro book for someone who is not necessarily convinced about Hg poisoning, then HTI is probably the better choice. For myself I use AI way more often, but I lend out HTI to people who are just being introduced to the idea that the array of problems in their family might be caused by metals. Guest guest
I'm glad to see this subject come up because I've been trying to order Andy's books through his site for a couple of weeks. Could someone please tell me how to add the shipping to the paypal order? The default amount displayed is $5.00 but that's for US addresses. I don't use Paypal very often & I can't seem to find a way to calculate the shipping & add the right amount. Alternatively, I could write to Andy to ask but don't have his e-mail or the e-mail of whomever handles his book sales. Can anyone help? Thanks, > > > > I've been wanting to purchase Andy's books. Guest guest
If you go to this page - http://www.noamalgam.com/buythebooks.html click on the books you want until finished then click on proceed to checkout. $5.00 is added for shipping and handling. On the next page it asks for country, and if he wants more for different countries it would be added there. I'm in Canada and he didn't charge extra when I bought his books. (But Canada charged me duty). Guest guest
Thanks for the help . I'm at the page where the next Paypal button is " pay this amount now " and I don't want to click because I'm not sure I'll be able to modify the order once I do! If you can offer more advice, I'm all ears. Otherwise I'll send Andy an e-mail through the site for more info.
