Stop Chelating? Should I let the Mercury Build Up and chelate later?

We recently received the results of a porphyrin test which showed NO

mercury coming out. The test was done on a chelation OFF day. A DAN

Dr. is advising us to temporarily stop chelating for about 2 months

to " let the mercury build up " and then chelate again.

We have been using the AC protocal with DMSA and he has been

improving!

Stopping chelation to allow the mercury to build up is contrary to my

understanding of the AC protocal. Here are my questions:

1. Should I stop chelating to let the mercury build up and chelate

again?

2. Can anyone explain why he is improving but the porphyrin test

shows no metals coming out? --- the doctor said that maybe the urine

sample was mishandled -- any other explanations?

Listmates - I need your advice.

Thank you.

I would not stop. There are probably other things coming out that

are causing improvements. Mercury is often the last metal to leave

and tests are not always that reliable anyway. I've heard Andy say

many times chelate, chelate, chelate, then keep chelating.

Was this Lab Corp or France??

Some have said Lab Corp was inaccurate.

This should not be affected by your chelation schedule--porphyrins

are a test of total body burden --not a result of a provoking agent.

I have never heard a doctor advising to stop and wait for a build up

of mercury!!! I am sorry to cause alarm--but that does not sit well

with me at all!!!

Come on .. I'm not a doctor, but . " let the Mercury build up again " ??????

My guess would be that either :

1. Sample mishandled

2. Lousy Lab

3. Doctor doesn't know how to read results

If it were me, I would go by visible results (observation), I agree with

Sheresa that removing other metals can give great benefits.

Many people have suggested that Mercury comes out later, but I think Andy

doesn't necessarily subscribe to that theory.

I have been following your progress and it seems to me that you are doing

pretty well with the chelation, why would you stop ?

Good luck !

In my opinion, no. The improvements that you are seeing are the real

test.

I think that explanation is most likely. See Andy's posts in archives

about how sensitive porphyrins are. The sample must be kept on ice,

must contain a preservative, must not be shaken, must not be exposed

to light.... and then there's the possibility of sampling error....

any other explanations?

Its Labcorp -- and I agree with you and others -- keep chelating.

Thank you.

Chelation will not stop. Agree with you.

Thanks for your input.

This makes sense. No chelator, no mercury coming out. It would seem

to me, that your child is not naturally excreting mercury. But that

does not mean there is still mercury there.

Or, the body might be clear of mercury, and it is time to address the

mercury in the brain.

How is the mercury " building up " ? Is he exposed in his daily

environment? If so, consider eliminating those sources as much as

possible

The results give you the info you want. Chelating causes improvement,

therefore continue chelating.
