Breath smells like mothballs

What would cause my son's breath to smell like mothballs?

It comes and goes.

He's 8 and takes Singulair and various multivitamins.

He has chronic sinus congestion but can breathe through his nose.

He's been a bit more oppositional lately.

I've Googled " camphor " and " napthalene " and found little.

One article hinted that SAM-e might be helpful.

My friend put her aspergers daughter on the BED diet and she had 3 episodes

when her poop smelled like mothballs and she said it was yeast die off. After

each episode the child gained much wellness...........I am sure the experts

here will have some good input for you but my guess would be something to do

with yeast and\or yeast die off................Jen

This might be linked to the chronic congestion. My kids get really

foul breath just before they get a sinus cold. May be yeast of viral

infection in his sinuses, thus the congestion.

I assume this odor did not come on with the use of singulair?

Oppositional behavior for us is associated with yeast overgrowth.

Is your child on a yeast protocol?
