It is said that lead causes paleness. [ ] Pale during chelation My dd is on her 4th round. She has done well so far. Always extra yeasty during this time, but managable once we stop the round. Tonight during her salt bath, she just looked soooo pale to me. She's really fair skinned anyway and doctors always ask me if she's always that pale, but she just looked extra pale to me. I don't know if it's b/c her dark circles under her eyes just were more noticable b/c of chelating, or what, but I was just wondering if that's pretty common. Guest guest Posted November 29, 2006 Report Share Posted November 29, 2006 , I split a 25 mg capsule in half to get her 12 mg, I don't know that I could be accurate if I split it up any further to get 8 or 9 mg. She's on her max amount of zinc and mag already so I can't increase those. She does have lead as well so that seems reasonable that she may be pale b/c of that. I just thought about the fact that I haven't tested my tub so possibly since the scary paleness happened during bath time, I may have lead issues with my tub. We do supplement every day on and off rounds, but I do notice the circles are darker when we chelate. Most likely due to minerals being chelated I would assume. Thanks! It wasn't until he underwent a few rounds of chelation that he started getting rosy and pink and healthy looking. We didn't even realize how bad he looked until we compared last years photos with his new one. Huge difference. As long as your supplementing according the Andy's list, just keep an eye on it. Is she otherwise acting ok? Feeling well etc.? If your tub is old and porcelain...don't bath her in it, use a huge rubbermaid container placed inside of the tub. Most tubs that go about 30+ years old leach lead from the glaze because back in the Comet cleanser era everyone scrubbed them to death. Until you can reglaze it or put a tub liner over it, bath her in something else. Keep in mind that the lead swabs only detect lead above a certain level. Lead can still be present under those levels. How old is your home/tub? I used to give my son 4 mg of DMSA. To make sure it was accurate, I diluted the pill into orange juice or pineapple juice, and shaked it very well before each dose. It can stay in the fridge for half a day. So for instance, you could dilute your 12.5 mg in 2 tsp and give her 1 tsp each time. 12 mg is high for a #35 lbs child if you are just starting.
