Guest guest
Hi , I think AS got some negative feedback from JB's article. I don't think too many people who treat their children biomedically visit the AS website or give feedback via the website. Please be as constuctive as possible if emailing. > > > > If any of you had new hope in Autism Speaks after they posted JB > > Handley's " Hey CDC, You forgot to count our son " piece, THINK > AGAIN... > > > > If you check the hyperlink for the article > > > (http://www.autismspeaks.org/community/intheirownwords_hey_cdc.php), > > you will find the message " Page Not Found. Guest guest
Should anyone have any question about where Autism Speaks stands on the mercury question, you might read this: http://www.chop.edu/vaccine/images/vec_thimerosal.pdf which is the page AS refers readers to for information about thimerosal. Has King reviewed this document? I am sure he would have a field day commenting on the inaccuracies and misleading statements therein. The article starts out by stating how differently ethylmercury behaves in the body from methylmercury. There was a time when that argument had me confused and thinking my somewhat limited understanding of biochemistry might be why the thimerosal argument made a lot of sense to me, but not CDC. Careful reading of the Burbacher paper got that straightened out for me, but I guess the authors of this paper just haven't seen that reference. I am sure many folks are still very effectively deterred from further investigation of the controversy by this kind of misleading/incorrect out-dated info. And no, I don't buy that flu shots are safe just because babies ingest more mercury from breast milk than they get from a shot. (That is how the article ends.) Good grief. Sorry, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and AS, you are going to have to do A LOT better than that to convince me of the safety of thimerosal. I am still not sure of the truth, but I am starting to recognize more of the lies when I see them. And it is clear to me from this reference alone that AS is lying when they say they want to investigate all leads and look into " environmental " causes. I was thinking the article sounded as if it were written by Offit--and then I noticed, it was. Could it be any clearer where AS really stands??? Guest guest
Please know that I have complete respect for you and am excited for your new endeavor at AS. My conviction is that many folks at Autism Speaks most likely understand that JB's article sheds a very healthy dose of truth on how the CDC consistently manipulates data to deny any harm related to vaccines. Thus, regardless of what AS's core constituency might think, the best service that could be done for children would be to allow the article to stand. In addition, I would also contend that in the interest of showing a diversity of viewpoints, Autism Speaks would welcome such poignant and direct writing. I would doubt that JB's piece was removed at the request of parents but rather but instead at CDC's insistence. If one were to look at the history of AS, they would be hardpressed to figure out where AS ends and the CDC begins... Again, please regard this post as nothing personal towards you - You have been and I'm sure will continue to be a champion for our kids! All my best, > > > > > > If any of you had new hope in Autism Speaks after they posted JB > > > Handley's " Hey CDC, You forgot to count our son " piece, THINK > > AGAIN... > > > > > > If you check the hyperlink for the article > > > > > > (http://www.autismspeaks.org/community/intheirownwords_hey_cdc.php), > > > you will find the message " Page Not Found. Guest guest
, With all due respect, I find the fact that JB's article was completely removed from AS website very " suspect " . AS could have easily archived it, but they chose to eliminate it. To completely remove a view point/article that had been front and center for days from a great advocate as JB, speaks volumes! There is a large majority of parents who align themselves with JB's philosophy and TRUTH as to what happened to their children. To extend a hand to reflect his opinion on their website, then to withdraw the support just does not " jive " . I am very disappointed and I hope and pray there is a better explanation, than the flimsy one given. > > > > > > > > If any of you had new hope in Autism Speaks after they posted > JB > > > > Handley's " Hey CDC, You forgot to count our son " piece, THINK > > > AGAIN... > > > > > > > > If you check the hyperlink for the article > > > > > > > > > > (http://www.autismspeaks.org/community/intheirownwords_hey_cdc.php), > > > > you will find the message " Page Not Found. Guest guest
The last time I looked Generation Rescue had lashed themselves to the mast of the sinking CAA ship along with several others. I really thought this was most unusual given the strong advocacy GR was historically known for. J.B. doesn't come across as a happy-happy-joy-joy club sort of man. What's up with this? Also, I hope that we all understand the level of evil that AS has partaken in. Every parent will do well to remember " better diagnosis " week which ran on Sponge Bob's network. NBC worked in partnership with CDC to produce it. They shot thousands of hours worth of video questioning our best experts. Even Kirby the author of Evidence of Harm said his interview lasted something like four hours (I think it was this long). SOOOOOO where's the footage? It never made it to the airwaves did it? That's the biggest question I have. All we got was fifteen seconds of Deth opposite a stumblin'-bumblin' Marie McCormack on that nightly news program, and we had to flood them with e-mail complaints about unfair bias to get that much of the issue on the air. Clearly the NBC network was working as a snitch for CDC and they were gathering information to pass along to the White House and Senate majority leader's damage control centers. If parents can find a copy of Offit's theater presentation at the American Enterprise Institute listen carefully to what he and other shills had to say. Then read the CAA and you will discover that Offit's pro-mercury business partners basically authored the Frist-Santorum CAA bill. Guest guest
, First, congratulations on your new job. Second, I hope that you are able to bring the light of truth to AS as it has heretofore seemed very dim from what I have witnessed. Further, I urge you to stand strong regarding the best interests of the children rather than bowing to pressure to compromise in an effort to further the best interests of the organization as we have seen with their partnership with NAAR. I hope the new year brings a new beginning at AS, one that is more protective of children than organizational reputation and styming to any voice of disention among the ranks. I believe with all of my heart that Bob and Suzanne are loving, caring grandparents who only want the best for their grandchild. I also believe Bob and Suzanne are well-intentioned people. Sadly, from what I have witnessed, it appears that some of their Board and some of their employee/leadership seem to feel it is more important to control the agenda and promote the organization than to advance the research necessary to end this tragedy. (An agenda which seems to be at odds with most parent/advocates of vaccine/mercury injured children with neurodevelopmental disorders commonly misdiagnosed as " autism " ). Given Bernie Marcus' close ties/loyalties to the CDC and the fact that he put up the bulk of the money for AS, and one of the members of the Scientific Advisory Board is a CDC employee (who also serves with Bernie Marcus on the Board of the Marcus Institute), it seems highly unlikely that anyone will ever get AS to acknowlege even the possibility of culpability by the CDC in this tragedy no matter how well-intentioned Bob and Suzanne are as individuals. It is unlikely that the Board, given its present make-up, would allow any meaningful biological vaccine/mercury research that could implicate the CDC. The current emotional ties between the CDC and AS are just too strong. Don't forget, just up the road from the CDC in Atlanta is the Marcus Institute (funded and founded by Bernie Marcus of Home Depot and major benefactor of Autism Speaks). While the work of the Marcus Institute and the intent behind its inception is laudable, it appears they are still want to treat autism as a psychiatric illness rather than a biomedical illness with psychological symptomology. The Marcus Insitute also has close ties to Emory University (new home of Dr. Walter Orenstein former head of the CDC Immunization Program). Having been born and raised in Atlanta, I can attest it is the local joke (with lots of basis in truth) that if one leaves CDC to go to Emory or visa versa it is considered a lateral transfer. The swinging door between Emory and the CDC never stops. In any event, , I wish you luck. For the sake of our children, I hope they don't dim your light of truth as large organizations have been known to do with frightening regularity when taking someone into the fold. Hang tough, my friend.
