Just curious... is your son GF/CF? The reason I ask is, my grandson

stopped feeling pain, after he regressed into autism. When he was 3,

he touched a lightbulb at my house and blistered all 5 fingers on

one hand and merely looked at it. He used to purposely jump down 5

or 6 stairs and hit the floor hard...again, nothing. He never felt

cold, either. I've seen him fall on the cement scraping his knee

drawing blood and he wouldn't even notice. After the gluten and

caseine cleared from his system, he began to feel pain...big

time!!!! I believe that his threshold for pain is very much in the

normal limits now...THANK GOD!!!! He used to get so many bumps and

bruises that we were afraid CFS was going to be paying us a visit at

any time. The only saving grace was that he even used to climb up on

the windowsill at school and jump down onto his knees!!! He thought

this was fun, but sustained too many serious bruises.

I wonder if this is what is happening with your son??? Just a

thought!

Yes, he's GFCF and he does feel pain. He and his brother tend to

overreact actually when they bump or bonk themselves. I have heard

of ASD kids not feeling pain, but my son has never fit that profile.

The guy at the booth told me he has encountered several people who

didn't feel the shock...but I sure did!

Wow, Beth... I have no input on this. I know the gadget you are

talking about and I can't stand it! I'll be watching this thread to

see if anyone has any thoughts or info on this! We do have some

pretty amazing kids, don't we?????

Hello Beth,

I have a background in electronics, so I feel I may have some knowledge in

this area.

A couple things come to mind in this case.

Conductivity - Depending on how this gadget works you must have an input

and an output path.

Shoes can play a factor here assuming they were counting on a ground

path thru the feet

Moisture level of the skin, if your skin is more moist you would be more

likely to conduct and feel the effect

Contact, depending on how hard he squeezed would affect the results. I

am assuming he squeezed hard enough.

Salinity (Salt Content) - This one I find particularly intriguing

because this could be sodium OR potassium levels .. Hhmmmmmm

What would be very interesting is if you squeezed his hands ONTO the device

to see if it passed thru his skin to yours or not ..

Hi Neil,

There used to be an arcade at Geneva-on-the-Lake. There was an

electricity machine that had 2 handles on it. It was meant for one

person, but a group of 10 of us held hands, the two closest to the

machine each had a hand on the knob. I was the farthest away, as I

was very apprehensive (I had been shocked twice when I was very

small...once I put bobby pins into a socket...geesh! I wonder where

my grandson gets it from...lol...) Anyway, the only one who reacted

seriously to it was me! The current was supposedly mild. The other

nine people thought it felt funny and laughed, but I totally

freaked! I found it both adversive and outright painful.

So, that sheds some light on the whole thing... some people react

according to how they are grounded, others, to their own their own

physiology.

Thanks for the mini course on electronics 101! You just may have

solved one of my life's biggest mysteries!!!!

Did he press the button more than once? Any small chance that it

just didn't work that time? Did it work right after he used it?

How interesting.

I have always wondered how our kids are affected by electricity. I

would have thought that they would be more affeced because of all the

metals in their bodies.

I knew a woman who had her amalgams removed and it was not done well

and it really disabled her. She became almost home-bound because if

she went out she would react very badly if she went near electricity

wires or towers. She also couldn't use her computer ot TV anymore. I

forget which one.

Can't people who have braces sometimes pick up radio stations on their

braces? Because of the metals I wonder how are kids are affected by

all the waves and electricity etc. in our increasingly wired world.

When I was pregnant with my son I got shocked every time I touched the

car. Is this normal? It worried me that it would hurt him.

Is there more information on all this or does anyone have thoughts?

My hubby who is very high functiononig aspergers is very hypersensitive to

electricity and is afaraid of it. Of course he also chewed through an electical

cord when he was a kid and got zapped so that may be part of it. I also am

sensitive to cell phones computers and some electronics............I think it

is definitly related to the mercury............I am also a victim of mercury

poisoning from amalgam and am easily shocked by cars

etc.......................Jen

I read once about a woman with multiple sclerosis who could pick up a Los

Angeles radio station via her teeth ( URL long gone from my database

unfortunately as it has crashed several times).....I believe people

afflicted with MS have an above average number of amalgams....

I had this happen to me about 10 years ago! It was a very brief

broadcast of a radio station coming out of my head; probably less

than 2 seconds total (moved my head and it stopped). After getting

over my astonishment, I had to laugh about a Gilligan's Island

episode I saw as a kid where I think Gilligan's teeth were picking

up radio waves... the tooth was knocked out right before they were

able to contact help. Nice to know my memory is at least good for

inane events and information.

I put that in my 'most bizarre experiences' file.

I did a semi-experiment with this a few days ago. I took a regular 9

volt battery and briefly touched the contacts to my tongue. As usual,

it caused my tongue to feel " pulled together " , plus it tasted bad.

Then I asked #1 to try it. He is fully chelated and okay with most

supplements, but is still a virus kid and has a few more issues. He

was able to keep the battery on his tongue for several seconds, a LOT

longer than I would have been able to do it, and he said he removed it

only because it tasted bad and felt " hot " after that amount of time.

Strange.
