I just read somewhere (sorry, can't remember where) that B1

(thiamine)deficiency is really a problem with alcohol abuse. I'm sure

there's plenty more, but that stuck in my head.

Just heard that niacinamide is helpful for alcohol recovery and even protective

for fetuses to prevent fetal alcohol syndrome if their mother's drink during

pregnancy.

Milk thistle to protect the liver would be useful. Vites/minerals,

especially c and b complex.

My dad was an alcoholic and had liver disease. He took a medicine called enulose

that kept him from getting disoriented. It worked very well for years.

, would something like this be helpful?

http://search.lef.org/cgi-src-bin/MsmGo.exe?

grab_id=0 & page_id=2733 & query=alcoholism & hiword=ALCOHOL%20ALCOHOLS%

20alcoholism%20

(you'll probably have to cut and paste that one into your browser)

Vitamin C, zinc, milk thistle. Epsom salts baths, perhaps. How many mercury

fillings does he have? Consider having a DDI hair elements test done for him to

see what toxic metals he's dealing with. Lots of fresh organic fruit and

vegetables. Any idea if he was using the alcohol to " self-medicate " ? That is

quite common. Perhaps someone can help figure out what underlying condition he

was dealing with that.

confusion/dementia, which the dr. says may be irreversible brain
partially recover from his confusion/dementia. Any thoughts? Thanks.
IMO, he has mild-moderate AS plus maybe more issues. He has some

amalgams. Likely will not get them out or do a hair test.

Alcoholism is probably self-medication - though I really don't know

what condition he needs to deal with. Right now, we are just hoping

he can regain a normal cognitive state.

Did this medication help your dad after he stopped his drinking? Or do

you mean it helped him while he continued to drink?

The enulose only helped after he quit drinking. He quit drinking 5 years before

he died. He took the medicine religiously. If he missed a dose, it would only

take a day or two for his speech to start slurring followed by complete

disorientation. We were told if he drank even the smallest amount of alcohol,

it would kill him, medicine or not.

Good Luck, we'll be praying for you.
