Guest guest
Hi, I got so called " fibromyalgia from the tetanus shot. I refuse to let my children get anymore shots because it ruined my life. I have tried so many alternative therapies and spent thousands on doctors and supplements. I have seen an osteopath, naturopath and now I am currently working with a homeopath. I would NEVER recommend the tetanus shot to anyone under any circumstances. you may regret it later like me,only I did not ask for the shot. I even said to the doctor is it safe while I am sick and on prednisone? he said oh sure lets start out the new millenium right so when we know when to get your next one. it was not time for one and God I could kick myself for letting him shoot me with that needle. when I say to you my life is over, it is not said lightly. My life is over. So many have offered help and I have taken it and not gotten any better. I believe I am permanently damaged. NO SHOTS under any circumstances. NEVER.love Janet

Guest guest
Docs can't know it all and if he or she once knew, may have forgotten. Sounds like an allergic reaction all right, but why now? Are you allergic to eggs? I thnk that is the usual question asked when a person gets an immunization. The only person I knew who had a reaction personally was my second son. He had a serious fever with his first one (Almost 105) and just laid in my arms and moaned for about 48 hours. It was very scarey indeed. The doc thought that having the immunization was more important than not, so he took half doses ever after that. I don't know if he has had a booster since he has been an adult, but I spose I need to ask him and be sure to tell him about the half dose thing. Hope you are able to find out what has interacted to cause this response. I know all of this stuff does cause interactions with the immune system and allergies are just another autoimmune disorder. Guest guest
Good luck with the soaking, but I would be concerned too about getting lockjaw too from the injury, especially if you have not had a tetanus shot in more than 10 years. I just wish they had looked into whether or not the shot would interact with the meds. Take care....
Guest guest
Last night my 4 year old son bit me pretty hard on my finger. It broke the skin and bled a little. I don't know whether to get a tetanus shot or not. I have two ASD sons, 12 and 4, and am breastfeeding a 1 year old boy.
Guest guest
Tetanus isn't a worry if the wound bleeds. It is anerobic and can't survive in the blood. It can get infected so watch for that but I wouldn't worry about tetanus at all. Especially if you are breastfeeding. The mercury in that shot, and it has lots, will go directly to your breastfeeding son. I would just make sure it was really clean and stayed that way. Maybe a little antibiotic ointment if it starts looking pink and gets warm to the touch. Tetanus is rarely an issue anymore, it was a great risk to people in WW 1 because they were often injured without adequate medical treatment. Getting it now is a very rare thing and usually the result of a very deep puncture wound that is not cleaned out well and doesn't bleed. mrs_linke <mrs_linke@...> wrote: Last night my 4 year old son bit me pretty hard on my finger. Guest guest
Tetanus is only a worry if you around " poop " as in animal feces or soil contaminated with animal feces. The nasty beast is found in the intestines of all animals including guinea pigs and dogs. The germ does stay in soil for many years. To avoid any such risk of getting it, as I did some research on tetanus because my daughter was supposed to have the shot..it says if you wash the wound tetanus is not an issue. If there is necrotic tissue or anything foreign in the wound it needs to be cleaned and irrigated properly..see doctor for that part. But otherwise, cleaning it out is sufficient for a bite or average cut. So basically a major unclean wound in someone never vaccinated would be a concern. Hope this helps. > > Last night my 4 year old son bit me pretty hard on my finger. It > broke the skin and bled a little. I don't know whether to get a > tetanus shot or not. However, if it really concerns you, you can try immune globulin instead of the vaccine http://www.mothering.com/sections/experts/tenpenny-archive.html#tetanus Dana
