Thanks for your words of encouragement. I do remember last year going

to Mexico. I was so nervous for him, too, and was so glad he enjoyed it!

At scout camp, they have continual classes all day and even during the 2 hour

free period, will be taking optional classes for additional merit

badges.

I have to tell you something so sweet. He will be " tenting " with one other

boy, who is 15. He is in our church group and has always been really nice to

(there are not many youth age boys here.) He has mild aspergers and his

mom knows of 's ocd, but her son, , does not. However, has

quite a few cousins with ocd. Apparently, he recognized some things in

and said to his mom, is a lot like so and so, isn't he (referring to his

cousins). had a rough time his first year in camp, so he decided he

wanted camp to be positive for and apparently, though I don't know if

they ever did this or not, he went shopping for a nerf basketball hoop (everyone

knows is basketball obsessed!) and said I can tape this up for

and then if he is having a hard time, it should help him. He also (well, at

least I think!) brought money because he wanted to buy a walking stick at the

scout store there and wanted to get a

matching stick for . And then, this part I know is true, his mom knows

eats a very minimal amt of processed food, so they shopped for his

favorite snacks, pistachio nuts and clementine oranges and he packed those as

well. So from that regards, I don't think he could have a better camp buddy. I

stayed up until midnight working on downloading some of his favorite music on a

new MP3 player so he would have that as well. He also has a really good book.

I am sure when he gets home it will have been a wonderful experience. I'll be

glad when the week is over!

Thank for everyone for talking me through even this little challenges. I want

you all to know how much I truly care about and root for each of your children.

They've become my extended family of nieces and nephews. What a blessing it is

to post here!

Wow , that is perfect!! And so sweet/nice!

I was just thinking today how I need to get some snacks for

to take to Montreat (that church conference) so he'll have " just in

case " since he's a bit limited re eating too.

Well I think may just end up wishing for an additional week

at camp!

Well so far so good ... day one is over and no phone calls.

I realized last night that I forgot all about pull ups for him. He is 12 and

hardly wets the bed anymore, but once in a while he still will. I meant to give

him the option of bringing them or at least to talk about what to do if he wets

the bed -- but I forgot.

Our home is very peaceful right now!!! I never realized how much

talks (and talks and talks) but it is quiet and I am enjoying it! is

the oldest and we have four younger children and they fight, complain, etc at

times ... but there is not the need for the constant talking that has.

Last night the girls found kittens outside - 3 of them for the three girls.

They played with them and were completely enthralled from about 4-8 pm, and our

little boy just sat on the couch and played with cars, never hardly making a

sound. I went to Walmart all by myself. It was wonderful!!!

A friend called last night and her children go to day care up at the Navy base

- but neither she nor her husband work on the base. They are having an

emergency drill there today and they will shut down the base at some point

during the day (though they don't tell you when but when they call, you have an

hour to get the kids and get off of the base). Her husband goes out of town

today and she can't get off of work, so she asked if I can either be on call to

pick them up or she said, I can just have you watch them all day, which equates

to about 6 am to 6 pm. Her girl is good friends with my girls, but her little

boy is HARD!!! I am glad to help her, as she really has no one else (just moved

here), but my selfish side was saying NO ...................... this is my

week!!!!!!!!!! I said, I think I'll just take the first option and have them

give me a call. Hopefully it is toward the later end of the day!

But anyway, one day of camp is over.
