Guest guest
My son Noah was complaining about his twin brother getting all the attention. He does, he is not as social, more anxious, bipolar (that should explain it) and has generally been more demanding all his life. I was explaining to Noah that B gets more attention because he requires more and is like the squeeky wheel. Noah says, what do you mean about the squeeky wheel? So I explained to him that if you are driving a wagon and one wheel squeeks, you must get off the wagon and grease (oil) the wheel so that it will quit making noises. So *that* wheel gets more attention than the other wheels. And thats where (?) they get the saying the squeeky wheel gets the grease (whatever) and he says , " But mama we don't have a wagon.... " Toni I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can CHOOSE which it shall be. Guest guest
That is absolutely adorable, and the funny thing is about a year ago my middle son said the same thing. I used the same analogy, AND I had to explain it to him (he is my Aspie that was 10 at the time, and he still doesn't get that stuff!) But his final reply was, " Well than, I guess it is Time I start Squeeking " Needless to say, we are working really hard to make sure he gets equal attention these days!!! Kids! What they think of is just amazing!!! Gotta' love 'em!!! *smiles* lisa b > > My son Noah was complaining about his twin brother getting > all the attention.
