Pat B.,

Thanks for the kind words. I used to have a housekeeper and it was a

lifesaver. She had to quit due to health reasons and now I have to do so

much to get this place into shape for a new one that I find it overwhelming.

I appreciate your support. I have friends and family who care, but just

don't get it. It's hard sometimes. Thanks again.

Anyone watch House last night? The story was about an autistic boy

but the best part was at the end when they were reading about

Aspergers and it was loud and clear that they thought House is an

aspie.

I knew I loved that show for a reason!

as much as I love that show, and no, I didn't get to see that epi, I don't think

that House could be aspie.....I've never seen ay sensory issues or communication

problems in his character. Perseverative...YES, Geeky..YES, High IQ...YES, out

of the ordinary cognative processing...YES....Aspie...doubtful.

aren't those the systems of Aspie? not every child has everything the same and

all together. If you don't think this is Aspie, then what do you think it is?

I know when andrew was dx'd they almost excluded him because he has large vocab

& communicates rather well, but the lang spec. said there were issues with the

conversational back & forth...I forget the exact title, but that was a MUST some

form of communication dysfunction..

AND they said that one of the most common signs is the sensory

issues....either over- or under- perception of stimuli.

Hi, I seriously doubt this can be left out, and still have a dx. of any kind

of autism. Meg

I believe it was a communication thing that caused my son to be dx NOS not

AS - but I can't remember what it was. But when I found out, I could

remember him having that problem off meds when he was younger, so I think

he is AS.

--- House is an arrogant,SOB,with a horrable bedside mannor...

in this instance I believe that House used this DX by his only

friend

to manipulate his boss....just like my daughter tries to manipulate

evevery one!....It very well could be that House IS AS...I do not

think that is true.....knowing how the man manipulates everyone he

is

around I feel that this was just another in a never ending ploy to

get what he wants...

You know the reason that Seth didn't get an easy diagnosis of AS is

because the doctor thought he was too able to meet people's eyes and

able to carry on a conversation. I guess you neveer know what could

be there or missing when a person has AS. I odn't know though because

I don't really watch TV. Although my husband is a huge Hugh Laurie

fan back from his Black Adder days

My son Isaac also can maintain eye contact when he wants to. He often chooses

not to if it's not someone he knows very well though.
