Guest guest
On my son, Josh's, first birthday (three years before he was diagnosed with AS) the only present we could afford to get him was a Mickey Mouse squeeky toy (I think it was actually a dog toy!)Little did we know... He's now 16 and still obsessed with " the Mouse " . He has M.M. sheets, blankets, toys, clocks, cups, t-shirts,etc. It's a regular rodent riot in our apartment! When he started High School I told him he had to back off a bit...that other high school kids might make fun of him for worshipping Mickey. So much for that...everyone at his high school brings him things with Mickey on them! He even has been given a Disney Corp. annual report with the Mouse on the front cover. The only downside to this is that he has a tendency to get right in peoples' faces when he sees them wearing Mickey Mouse clothes. There was one incident where he apparantly poked another student (female) in the chest because she had on a Mickey t-shirt. His teachers are working with him on the whole " personal space " issue and he's getting better about it. He'll run up to somebody, but then stop himself before he gets too close (most of the time.) Just thought people might like to have a little chuckle in the often serious world of AS. Pat
