Hello ,

I am a recently diagnosed AS father of a son with AS and am excited about this

project and wish to contribute. My son's specialty is art, namely, colored ink

drawings. Is it possible that we might submit any of these? We would be happy

to send you some copies. Sincerely, Ramsey

Hi all,

I'm a health care journalist, as well as the mother of a 10-year-old

son with Asperger syndrome. Autism Asperger Publishing Company has

asked me to put together of book of essays, stories, poetry,

monologues, and remarks by children with Asperger syndrome or high

functioning autism.

I'm really excited to have the opportunity to let our kids' voices

be heard. So many people have misconceptions about our kids--not

realizing how truly amazing and diverse they are.

I describe the project, tentatively titled More Than Little

Professors, on my new website:

http://www.lisabarrettmann.com/aspergers_project.html

The site includes a few samples of submissions I've already

received. There's some great stuff--but I need a lot more!

If you're the parent of a child with AS or HFA, I hope you'll

consider submitting something he/she has said or written for the

book. Your child's identity will be protected, and you'll be helping

others gain insight into our kids' thoughts and feelings.

If you're a professional in the autism/asperger field, I hope you'll

share info about my project with your colleagues and with parents. I

can provide flyers too, if you'd like some.

I hope all of you will FORWARD this message/link on to anyone you

think may be interested! And thanks in advance for your help.

Hi , what a great idea! What about any fiction story. My son

constantly writes a kind of science fiction story and adds to it

constanly. He is always on me to get the whole thing or some part of

it published. It's kind of like a fantasy story (think yu-gi-oh). He

has the same characters, names, and descriptions. He has gotten so

much better at writing a plot. When he started, it was mainly action,

action, action.

Hello, I noticed that you said your son was very good at art? Mine is as well he

has been able to color inside the lines of a coloring book page since he was 3

years old. He also loves to draw pictures and does very well I might add. I just

wanted to share that with you and your son I thought that was very interesting.

I'm afraid my book is going to be black and white, with

fewillustrations (maybe a B & W drawing at the beginning of each

section.)

If your son has done any B & W drawings, send 'em on over!Meanwhile,

I'll check with my publisher to see if they have any need for color

pictures for other projects.

Thank you for thinking so! I find it interesting that your son was able to stay

inside the lines at such a young age!--kevin

Hi ! Thanks, I think this is the best news I have heard yet. My son is in

the middle of digging a hole in the back yard, all the way to the bottom if

he can. This is an excellent tool to keep him writing and out of my poor back

yard, which is now looking like as if a bomb hit it. He is 13 and has a

fantastic imagination. He is science oriented. This should keep him out of my

back

yard and back in the writing mode. He is on page 4 right now. Please send any

info on where to send the story, when he finishes this one. He has a collection

of stories he has written so far.

Oh my goodness. Is he hoping to find artifacts, or just digging for

the sake of digging? (Well, at least he likes to go outside. More

than I can say for my son!)

He can submit as many stories as he'd like. It's great to have a

number to choose from. You can either email them to me

(lisa@...), or mail them to:

Be sure to include your contact info on any submissions.

Looking forward to reading them!

Thanks !

has at least temporarily stopped the digging. The sudden rain storm

also helped. Writing is an excellent tool to keep him busy. I like it when he

is outside getting some excersice, but not to dig my back yard.

We will send you the stories as soon as he is finished expanding his very

long 4+page story. This is his current tale.

LOL!!!!!

Cristina,

Have you considered hiring your son out, come springtime, to help folks with

their planting? LOL

I'm hoping to plant a vegetable garden this year...I wish my two AS's had the

same fixation your child has...(sigh)
