Guest guest
Hi Dana: You made the following reference in response to someone's post: " For my family, sinus infections are yeast. This actually sounds like you had a yeast sinus infection. " What is your definition of a yeast sinus infection? My son has been on the GFCF diet for 1 1/4 years. Last February, Spencer had a sinus infection for the first time when we were beginning to treat yeast with berberines. The sinus infection cleared when he went on an antibiotic. For about 3 weeks, my son has had a head " tickle " and dark circles under his eyes. He had no pain in the sinus area, no runny nose, and no congestion. The regular pediatrician thought he had allergies and prescribed Flonase and Zyrtac. He got a runny nose after taking the Flonase and Zyrtac, so I stopped it. My DAN! doctor recommended we try an allergy tonic. It still hasn't worked though. She thinks he may need a higher dosage, but recommended he go on an antibiotic if he has headaches. Three weeks later, he still has a head " tickle " during the day and a headache at bedtime. Is this a yeast sinus infection? If so, why doesn't he have the standard pain when I press the sinus area? Why doesn't he have a runny nose? Is it because he's on quercetin which lowers histamines? Thanks, Hoch

Usually accompanied by headache but not always. Three > weeks later, he still has a head " tickle " during the day and a headache at > bedtime. Is this a yeast sinus infection? Possibly. But sounds to me like " just " yeast in the head, which I also get. Major nasty stuff. If I wake up in the night, or upon awakening in the morning, and have a nasty headache, I know for sure it is yeast. Sometimes I have the headache at bedtime but not always. I use GSE several times a day and that takes care of it by the end of the day. You can buy a GSE nasal spray for sinus yeast. Altho oral works for me, it does take all day, several doses during the day. Dana
