Hi Valentina,

I sometimes wonder where we are giving him something unnecessarily,

but how would I know he does not need it?

Not Valentina, but the methylating supps have never done anything for

n. TMG, no effect at all. MB12 made him aggressive and angry

without folinic acid, but with folinic there was no change.

Well... I think B12 is something that everybody is trying because of the

connection with methylation and sulfur chemistry. I think there are a lot more

people than we are aware of that use B12 just because it's tolerated, and not

because it's needed. Just in case, you know? :)

I am sure that not all these kids need B12, and for sure not all of the ones

that do benefit from it need it in the injection form or nasal. Why are people

still giving it? :) Good question. I don't know... I think when people read

about methylation they assume that their kid must be what we call an

" undermethylator " . So you give B12 and other things, just to make sure.

Who recommended this to you? Was the recommendation the result of a test?

You are saying in a different message that you did some tests. What kind of

tests were these? Did any of them show B12 deficiency? Or a need for more B12?

Well, the interesting thing is that the typical undermethylator does NOT

tolerate B12 that well.

You mean at the beginning? Because that makes a lot of sense to me, actually.

Amazing, and somehow he still progressed quite nicely!

Pfeiffer lists the typical undermethylator as intolerant of both B12 and folic

acid. I think there recommendation for undermethylators is TMG or choline.

Was true for us also, even small amounts in the beginning made her hyper. Now we

can give without the problems e.g. hypertalking, aggression.

My son will regress if I give him something he does not need.

I don't understand why they would say that. I mean I get it why TMG or choline,

but I don't understand why not B12 with folic acid.

Small amounts of what? B12?

Oh! So you actually say that " undermethylators " simply have a hard time taking

B12 and folic acid, not that they shouldn't take it because it's harmful (?)

My son's lab test shows very low methylation and he is doing great on MB

12 with folinic acid nasal spray. He is getting it twice per day.
