OT...Can I make my own GSE nose spray?

I was just wondering as my sinuses have been painfully blocked for a couple days

now. I read something in a past post about using GSE in a nosespray but it

sounds like it was purchased that way. I am just worried about it turning into

an infection. I have been taking lots of supplements including OLE and Vitamin

C which have made me feel better but still the sinuses are blocked.

Thanks so much!

Never thought or heard of that. What nasal spray(s) do you use? Stay away

from anything with benzylkonium in it. Do you do any nasal irrigation? I

use a waterpik with the sinus attachment with kosher salt. Works great.

You can also add a little xylitol and baking soda ( " michele in limbo's "

recipe, don't have the link offhand). But really, mine are under control

now pretty much just using OLE (which is amazing with the crazy changes in

weather we've been having). Sometimes a long, steaming hot shower with a

hot compress rag on your face will open them up enough to irrigate them

which starts the healing. Sometimes laying down with your head back helps

too.

What about using a netipot? They are cheap, sold at most health food stores.

There are video directions on how to use them on the web, it takes some getting

used to, but sure beats living with sinus pain. It is aurvedic medicine, kinda

yogaish, alternative, but it really clears out the nasal passages and sinuses.

I have seen GSE nasal spray at my local health food store.

I just may try that. This has been going on since Wed night and hardly better.

I feel better, I have taken a LOT of anti-virals. But my congestion is still

pretty bad and my sinses still hurt. The GSE does help though only for a couple

hours. It could be worse!

Thanks for the suggestion. Alternative is good in my house!

Nutribiotic makes one. It works *great. But I'll admit it feels pretty

bad when you squirt it in -- it hurts. So the kids have tried it once

and now refuse, no matter how clogged up they are.

My ND that I used told me to use Doctor's Best Quercetin & Bromelain for my

congestion and allergies. It works wonderful for me. Take them on an empty

stomach for best effect. Here is a link:

Scroll to the bottom of this page to " supplemental Information " as there are

additional links about allergies and symptoms of allergies regarding

quercetin/bromelain.
