Not sure if I can answer your question. Just wanted to say we were giving our

son extra liquid when he started on NV but he wet his pants and his bed so much

that we've cut waaay back now. He drinks a normal amount of water plus the two

" milkshakes " he gets with NV. It just doesn't work for me to increase his fluid

intake!

I think the 8/8z of water a day is for adults. The .6 times body weight isn't

on top of the 80 oz recommended; it is instead of it. so she would need

..6x40=24. Is that right? You can drink too much water and it flushes out salts

and electrolytes. My son is 26 lbs so I've only been trying to get 16 oz in him

a day on top of NV. Should it be more? It's a bit of a struggle to get him to

drink at all, and he was a champion NV drinker who now refuses it--even in ice

cream

I have to dilute it quite a bit with juice.

Am I not giving my son enough water?

I found information for those taking whey protein. Hydration is important as

again it greatly and naturally raises the glutathione which doesn't just

naturally rid the body of excess heavy metals but that's part. Nutriiveda as a

product was formulated to rid the body of excess ama- that's the garbage,

plaque, undigested food, waste -yucky stuff that your body doesn't need. Here's

a link to how for example the turmeric which is found in nutriiveda and turmeric

naturally contains curcumin gets rid of plaque in the brain for those with

Alzheimer's. Many sources of credible information but just pulled this one-

anyone can find many clinical studies now on this:

" Alzheimer's disease is characterized by the buildup of amyloid protein

``plaques'' within the brain. In studies in rats, curcumin ``not only reduces

the amyloid, but also reduces the (brain's) response to the amyloid,'' according

As far as liquid you want to use common sense as well as suggestions. I had

read to take body weight X .6 for a rough estimate. Keep in mind there is

liquid even in crackers- so it's just a guideline. Also if a child wets himself

and his bed that could be a sign of too much liquid- or could just be a sign

that he needs to go potty more -and perhaps shouldn't drink as much late in the

day. But for sure yes you want to make sure there is enough hydration -a bit of

pee vs what gains we are seeing -that is what is more important. You again

don't want too much water either- too much of anything is bad -but again you

want to use common sense. Perhaps share with your child's doctor if you can't

decide what is right.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I will talk it over with the doctor but

also manage the fluid intake myself. i know that too much water can be toxic

itself. Thanks again :) I cant wait for my son to start so I can hopefulyl see

the excellent results everyone else is having!!!
