Guest guest
Well, Happy Birthday, Jack! What awesome news! At our house, we know exactly what you mean about the results being subtle, and yet not. For us, it was like a light switch had been flipped on, and the surges continue to come. Hope to see more and more great posts about Jack's progress! This is just so exciting! Dianne > > I was going to wait a little longer to post an update, but I'm just too excited not to post about this! > > Jack (just turned 3 yesterday) started NV last Saturday, so today was day 6. Guest guest
I love reading happy updates, but couldn't the surges be from speech therapy? I do know there are things that help speech therapy because my son is on fish oil, but how would you know in less than a week? Guest guest
Hi Kate. Good question! While speech therapy is certainly contributing to my son's progress, I can't believe that after he's been going to a therapist-run preschool four mornings a week, where he receives constant group ST and OT with pull-out individual sessions 3 times per week, for 2 1/2 yrs (and indiv ST and DT for a year before that), that it all suddenly kicked in within days of starting NV. And maybe - just maybe - I would still believe that it was coincidence if it were not happening with so many other children, too. And, too, I can feel the effects myself, since I began using it when my son did. And it's not just speech that's improving - it's also vocabulary, imaginative play, attention, engagement, and mood - he used to cry for apparently no reason, both at home and at preschool, and that isn't happening anymore. He also used to hate going to preschool, and now he likes it. The way I see it, not only can I tell that its the NV that's helping, but all of these improvements will make therapy even more productive! Guest guest
Hi Kate, I don't know that I can necessarily say 100% that I know these changes are from the NV within just a few days, but I sure am hopeful that they are! We've been doing individual ST for over a year and haven't seen this kind of a change in such a short time. And a lot of the changes I'm seeing aren't even really things related to his speech that would be a result of ST -- things like his sense of humor being sharper. Like I said, I'm definitely hopeful that this will have a similar effect on our son just like the fish oil did. > > > > > > I was going to wait a little longer to post an update, but I'm just too excited not to post about this! > > > > > > Jack (just turned 3 yesterday) started NV last Saturday, so today was day 6. Guest guest
Hi & all, As the lead SLP expert here, I can say that unless your SLP changed something she was doing in her therapy sessions, the changes ARE most likely from NutriiVeda! Woohoo! No discredit to the Sp therapy intended. In my practice, w/clients on NV I have seen these types of surges as well. NV seems to be working to support the goals of therapy. Not to toot my own horn, but my clients tell me I am an excellent SLP. I have had clients wking on sp-lang skills w/which they were struggling who suddenly improved in these target areas after starting NV. NV seems to have given them just the little extra push needed to achieve the skills. Now, did I lay the groundwk for the skills? Yes! NV appears to speed the acquisition of the skills & be more " open " to learn other skills. It also seems to make kids more " present " in my sessions & at home. It seems to help w/motor planning since kids are attempting wds/snds they might not have previously. So NV is supporting my goals in therapy. Do kids still need sp therapy? Of course! They need me as the SLP to guide & shape these new snds & skills. Just b/c new snds are gained doesn't mean they are produced in the rt place in wds; instead of a snd omission, a child might now be substituting a new snd for other snds, so more wk in that area I needed. NV seems to help a child achieve greater results in target skills & other areas. I see them as wking together for overall gains. Keep up the Speech tx & NV!! Guest guest
I had to share this news ... Jack's over at my mom's again today while I work. My mom was just taking Jack upstairs for a nap (she was carrying him), and he told her " I walk! " He has NEVER used a pronoun before! He's on a week and a half now of NV. ) > > I was going to wait a little longer to post an update, but I'm just too excited not to post about this! > > Jack (just turned 3 yesterday) started NV last Saturday, so today was day 6. Guest guest
That is such awesome news -and isn't it great to hear the good news from others?! Whether it's family or a teacher or SLP- it's so hard to believe something so easy can make such a profound difference in such a short period of time. I was one the phone with Cassandra (her testimony for her 7 YO son Joe is here too http://pursuitofresearch.org/testimonials.html ) and she was sharing the updates with me- and the main focus was on not just how well he is doing and all the new things he's surging in -but how it's noticeable to others- how he's now talking to others where he wouldn't prior to nutriiveda. What's great is that we can all share as it does appear we are seeing similar things in our children -of all ages! Congratulations!!!!! Way to go Jack!!!!! PS -hey Cassandra- post your update here!!! =====
Guest guest
Is that typical that you see surges in days? The updates here really are hard to believe. I guess I shouldn't think about it as a therapy and just look at it as a food and just try it? My son's pediatrician approved this months ago. Does it help cherub no matter where I buy it? Guest guest
Hello, I have to say that I was a huge skeptic when it comes to any intervention that isn't PT, OT or ST. Or for that matter any supplements. But once I started our five yr old, who has a syndrome and is non verbal, the first few days of him being on the NV he was actually able to stick out his tongue when he couldn't a week before. He couldn't do that even with ST since he was six months old. He is also using consonant sounds now when he didn't before. His vocal sounds are completely different and actually seem intentional. He also has this type of autism behavior where he will lie down and be gone in his own little world. He doesn't do that at all now. He is starting to jump a little now when they have been trying to get him to do this for months. There are so many major changes since starting the NV that I am convinced that it is the NV and not anything else and certainly not coincidence. He is able to sign more and even proved to the teacher at preschool that he knows some of his colors. This has all happened in just the two short months that he has been on the NV. He has also gained weight, which I am very pleased with. Do I think that NV is the cure all for our kids problems? Of course not. That would be very silly. I do believe that NV has many benefits that you can't get from regular food or other vitamin supplements. I do know that it has done nothing for my sons sleep issues or his GI issues. I don't it will or can but from what I have seen that it has done, I am more than happy with it even if we don't see any thing more from the use of it. Hugs and blessings, a > > > > > > > > > > I was going to wait a little longer to post an update, but I'm just too excited not to post about this! > > > > > > > > > > Jack (just turned 3 yesterday) started NV last Saturday, so today was day 6. Guest guest
It's not that I am a skeptic as my son is on fish oil and we have seen surges with that. My son's pediatrician didn't say much about it other than it would be healthy, he approved the fish oil too. I do plan on trying it -it just seems too good to be true, doesn't it? I did not mean to come across as if I didn't believe others and am sorry if I did. Thank you very much to all that have emailed me here and in private, I am getting courage up to order " NV " LOL Kate PS the link to order is pursuitofresearch.org and not .com right? > > > > > > > > I love reading happy updates, but couldn't the surges be from speech therapy?
