Guest guest
This is just brilliant information Alyssa! Congratulations to you and your child and thank goodness for this group. I can't read the information here fast enough about nutraveda and I'm keen on trying a tub. I noticed slight differences in the ingredients of vanilla and chocolate http://www.pursuitofresearch.org/ingredients.html Are there any differences in effectiveness? What flavor does your son use? > > > > Hi all, > > > > I just had to share Alyssa's son, Matt's, story. Guest guest
Alyssa what has 's doctor said about the 11 weeks free of seizures (!), with the Depakote reduced in half (!!)...and can we mention in spite of almost directly after reducing his meds he went on the roller coaster that had warnings against those with epilepsy riding it(!!!) What type of surgery was Matt supposed to go for? And CONGRATULATIONS!!! And PS about the difference in flavors- I haven't noticed a difference either but it does appear that most kids and adults use and prefer one flavor or the other, so hard to really know anyway! =====
Guest guest
I personally noticed a tiny difference between the two. While going through detox, chocolate caused discomfort in my lower back/inner abdomen and vanilla gave me headaches. I suspect chocolate stimulates the intestines/bowels more and vanilla doesn't quite as much, but stabilizes blood sugar more. Either way the differences are infinitesimal. Vanilla has a bitter aftertaste that Chocolate has, but it is better masked with the cocoa. Vanilla is good in many juices and chocolate is better in milk or other creamy texture drinks. Chocolate is better with just water while vanilla sort of needs something sweet added to it. I hope that helps. I think http://www.speech411.com has where you can buy one canister of each, but it is a bit more expensive. Guest guest
, is a potential candidate to have a small abnormal piece of tissue removed from his right temporal lobe. However, we have a bit more diagnostic testing to be done before we would even meet with the surgery team. As of today I have put this on hold because of his new found seizure control. As far as his medicines we have not reduced his Depakote by half but he was taking 500mg daily and now 375mg daily, plus he still is taking the same amount of carbatrol. So a little less than half. We are still having huge behavioral battles that seem to rear it's ugly head only at school. I am at a loss as to why..... Really could he be feeling that much better that his true colors of ADHD are showing?? And now it is time to treat it??  There are so many pieces to this puzzle that it truley makes my head spin! The positive is that he contuines to be seizure free!! Yippy..... I would love to hear from people who have children who are ADHD and what is there behavior like when they are not on meds. Thank for listening, Alyssa ________________________________ From: kiddietalk <kiddietalk@...> Sent: Thu, April 22, 2010 9:01:51 AM Subject: [ ] Re: and NV  Alyssa what has 's doctor said about the 11 weeks free of seizures (!), with the Depakote reduced in half (!!)...and can we mention in spite of almost directly after reducing his meds he went on the roller coaster that had warnings against those with epilepsy riding it(!!!)
