We too have a possible ADHD--problem--it is rather common in kids with

neurodevelopmental issues--speech/auditory processing problems --and it can

often be misdiagnosed when in fact other issues like auditory processing are

responsible for the problem and built up frustrations from the speech

difficulties--learned responses from just dealing with not being able to make

yourself understood by others and always having to cry and scream to get it...it

all adds up and builds into an inappropriate response. That said--some kids do

have true attention deficits as do many adults--but they usually learn to better

cope with it by then.

Also sensory problems can be a HUGE factor for ADHD--classroom accommodations

can be implemented--the kid can do jumping jacks --be given jobs to walk around

more etc.--to relieve some of the pressure and built up energy.Yes--Fish oil is

supposed to help with all neurological disorders--ADD/ADHD being one of them.

I've also read ana article where they compared the harmful drugs wiith Fish Oil

and the results were very comparable in terms of outcome--so definitely worth

trying fish oil and other supplements--before ever considering medication--which

can have very severe consequences--long term especially---Ritalin has been

proven to actually shrink the brain--not just growth of body---but growth of

brain--and MRIs proved that--it's not something you want if you can at all avoid

it--environmental changes ---working with behavioral and environmental

accomodations and diet/nutritional supplements (avoidance of toxins/chemicals

in the environment sugar HFCS

and other

sweeteners but that one in particular---MSG-etc)--all have been proven effective

and should be tried first before any of the medications. If you read the

medication side effects you will understand why--and please do not think of the

side effects as being--on the side----they can be MAJOR and cause long term

damage--especially if taken long term.

Anyway, others will chime in I'm sure.

Good luck!
