Guest guest
My son is almost 4 and uses Proloquo2Go on his itouch. Some of it is hard to do because the buttons are so small. You can make the pictures bigger but not some of the " function " keys. My son has a huge delay in fine motor though. Excited when the iPad comes out and Proloquo is formatted for it!! If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me :-) -Jenna Weil > > My son is 2.5 yo. Does anyone have a recommendation about a assisitve communication device for this age group? Has anyone used the Proloquo2Go for the Ipod? It seems to be the most reasonable priced, but i don't know if a young child can work it. >
Guest guest
Most of that age group uses the Tech Speak (check Google). It can be with as low as 4 buttons. Pictures are inserted and it records what the picture is. The amount of buttons goes up from there as they get the idea what it can do for them. When my daughter was in K-the school district bought her an 8button Tech Speak. There are other companies that make similiar ones. Guest guest
Hi, I have a son who is now 3-3/4 y.o., but when he was was just over 3, we went to the Lucile Packard's Children's Hospital where they had an electronic communication device that works similar to the proloquo2go, but it is sturdier and more simple to use, and the therapist that we were working with said that proloquo2go requires even more pushing of buttons to get to the correct screen to use the words. Our son (who is of average intelligence but sometimes not the best follower of instructions) was too fascinated with pushing the buttons to really get the hang of using it. But he was interested in having the words come out of the machine... he was just button crazy and thought it was a great toy. Perhaps there is some way for you to program the machine so that the common words were on the front page, and perhaps some children could use it better than he could. If you do get it, please tell me how it works out for you. Sincerely, Barbara firedog665@... > > My son is 2.5 yo.
