Guest guest
Perhaps these are common knowledge but I thought I'd throw them out just in case. Pasta Pomodoro I noticed on their to go menu on Saturday that there was a brief mention of gluten free pasta on the menu. It used to say 'low gluten' and I never looked into it, but got curious that it now said gluten free. I emailed them and they use a lentil bean based pasta which you can substitute in any dish. But you have to specifically ask them to cook it in separate water as well as make necessary inquiries about any sauce etc you're interested in. I included her email below. The pasta mfg has a 'made in a facility that processes wheat' disclaimer on the packages though they advertise the product as gluten free. Do what you will with this information. Daphne's Greek Cafe This is a chain sort of in the model of Baja Fresh (quick serve but not icky fast food) that recently opened a restaurant in the Whole Foods/Bay Meadows shopping center in San Mateo and they have a handful of others around the bay area. I think their food is very good (though I'm not a greek food expert) and was pleased to find an allergen list on their website. You can view it here: http://www.daphnesgreekcafe.com/Downloads/Allergens_List.pdf My husband did not have a problem with the gyros before we knew they were on this list, but take that info at your own risk. He is not super careful so its possible he didn't notice. Hope this info helps someone! --- Britt Brunke <bbrunke@...> wrote: > Subject: RE: Gluten Free Pasta > Date: Mon, 12 Jun 2006 17:10:48 -0700 > From: " Britt Brunke " <bbrunke@...> > " on " <vizlvr@...> > > , > > The brand that we use in our restaurants is > Papadini.
