I have this concern too about tooooo much meat. Since we started the diet he

seems to be self limiting to chicken nuggets and pear sauce. I am sneaking in

zuchnni and/or acorn squash in the pear sauce and since he wouldn't eat the

squash buttons i mixed them in the nuggets tonight (he didn't seem to notice).

However, I am concerned about him only eating something that looks like a nugget

and pear/zuchnni sauce (he can only have apples every 4 days and is HIGHLY

sensitive to bananas. He refuses anything for breakfast - occassionally will

eat the pear sauce. His pooh was good during our first month, we had some

infractions over the holidays and started the intro back over and now into the

end of the first week after the intro he is constipated again. Today was day 3

of no pooh, thank goodness he finally went but it was NO where near 3 days worth

of pooh. Chicken/turkey/porkroast nuggets are the only thing he will eat

consistently. How do you know when too much meat

is ingested? The babysitter is noticing he is more involved with the other

kids and initiating play and is amazed at changes she sees, with us he is

communicating more, less stimming this time around. So i really don't see any

behavioral side effects of too much meat -if there even is such a thing.... I'm

sure something is brewing underneath the surface, but i wouldn't know what to

look for.

Patti,

Yep, the grocery store chicken...It says it is grain feed.

I wish I could afford the organic/free range...we have been eating

lots of chicken...so I'm feeding them arsenic yum!...but I do think

the high glumanate food makes him crazy too!...

I wish we didn't have to rely so much on meat now.

My magnesium glycinate just arrived at my door...my son looked so

silly when I delivered his lunch today...maybe it will help.

I Can't wait for the brokerage on my K2, it should comes this week.

Maybe I should reconsider the type of meat we eat and how much...I

always knew that there was concerns about chicken...one more thing for

me to worry about.

I had 2 really good days...now I'm a bit depressed..Oh well...

Have a good day Patti,

cathy

free-range or whatever? I know that most regular chickens are fed feed

that is laced with arsenic.... I think that is added as an

anti-parasitic. I honestly don't know how much of that ends up in the

meat, or if it's dangerous or not, I just read that is common practice.

going through into the meat... that isn't the issue. You just might

want to try organic birds for a while, or at least do a little

Googling about the arsenic in chicken feed issue.

Do you have any idea how much meat to veggie ratio you've got in the nuggets?

If he doesn't seem to notice, then I'd sneak in a little more. We did have to

do that with our son for the first six months of SCD. It was only in December

that he started eating vegetables without me mixing them into something that

couldn't be detected. He still won't eat them on his own. I have to tell him

to eat them. he usually won't unless I feed them to him. He's getting there

though. He probably has more poop in there that didn't come out with this first

one in three days. Have you tried any of the constepation protocalls? I

believe that this one is the last on Eliaine's list...and I don't even use it

for my SCD child...but it works great for my five year old who always tends to

hold in a BM. You cook down prune juice into a more concentrated nectar. Give

a couple of tablespoons...I mix my son's into his OJ or grape juice. It works

well. Just bring about 1/2 cup of prune juice to a boil. It will eventually

cook down to about 1/2 cup. When it looks like it is about there, just remove

it from the heat. Let cool slightly, and there you go.
