We have seen a BIG improvement with our son's speech with a supplement called "speek". He has been non verbal after he spoke up to 3 and regressed totally. He is 7 and We still are challenged with Stimming. Hyperactivity could be due to die off moments by your son and I agree that too much is not always too good, you may very well be doubling on supplements. Die offs can be deceiving, kids can giggle or laugh for no reason and at times may crawl on the floor with pain and screams. Consider seeing a DAN, profile testing for deficiencies and a good strategy to watch for reaction every time a new supplement is introduced, a rule of thumb, every four days or so.I still do not have an answer for Stimming or lip movements....Our son is on the following:Magnesium, zinc, Enhanca, olive leaf, Speek, methylfolate, daily B12, Vit B complex, betane, Vit D drops, Intestin ol. That is way way too many supps. I did the same thing and had to detox my son's pathways from the supps for 3-6 months on JUST MINERALS! I had my son wild with too many supplements, 45 in all. Try your son's protocol upsized for your weight for a week and see how you feel.

Wow! Very enlightening article! We are seeing lots of improvement on LDN. More than we did with GAPS. we're still gluten free, organic, etc. but that is really all we're doing diet-wise.

My new triple threat is LDN, high dose niacin and vitamin C.

Enemas stop fevers cold. Enemas are somewhat unpleasant yet incredibly healthy if plain clean water or a bit of chlorophyll.

I dump the plastic ones and fill them w clean water then my son does his own he has learned relief for constipation/fever is on the way. My doctor is old fashioned.

One of the symptoms of my daughter condition is the eyes rolling up. She will do this when she gets tired or is in her more severe condition.

We think inflammation is the cause, but find it related to low blood sugar or at least juice will sometimes relieve the problem. Anti inflammatories or analgesic will also relieve the problem at times. Her doctor originally prescribed the analgesics. We found aspirin or Tylenol would relieve the problem temporarily.

Has anyone determined the root cause of this?

Don't use tylenol too toxic for the liver.

There are natural inflammatories out there to use, or use motrin.

How do you know she is not having seizures? The eye issue could be related to seizures, if you have not done a 24 hr EEG on her, how do you know for sure. I would also video tape her doing this, to take to a Neurologist. I would also look into testing her for PANDAS, also another immune problem with many of these kids.

Hi Everybody and thanks for letting me in.

My name is Lara and I am a mother of two: Diego (5 years old) and Mirta (2 years old).

Mirta is okay, but my husband and me, we seem to be having some heavy issues with Diego.

When Diego was 4 years old, he was diagnosed with PDD with autism spectrum. Despite having language troubles (flaws in pronunciation, sometimes wrong or poor articulation and repetitive sentences/questions) Diego is very verbal.

We then started a gluten, dairy products, sugar and soy-free diet earlier this year.

This happened in April but we sadly we had to restart it in August after finding that both his school and his Summer camp didn't comply with the diet.

We are Italians living in Spain (Tenerife, Canary Islands) and we must sadly admit it looks like living in a 3rd world country sometimes.

Again back to April we found a DAN doctor. He followed Diego from that month until September...That is when we found he was another guy more interested in our money than in Diego's health.

He never examined Diego...All he could do was to let us talk for some minutes and then proceed to prescribe a variety of expensive medicines (all of them could be casually found in his personal chemistry). He also prescribed him two exams: Hair mineral analysis and intestinal dysbiosis.

All these treatments have never had a significant impact on him...In particular, the last treatment (the doctor had defined it "a neurological energy bomb"...Brain enhancement or so) really got him worse: Diego was the quintessence of agitation...Hyperactive, angry, moody, quarrelsome and with a terryifing pale face and heavy eyebags.

On top of that, his chronic sleep problems had taken a turn for the worse.

After a couple of weeks, We wrote an email to the doctor reporting Diego's worsening. He replied that he had to undergo a cortisol test but neither gave he nor sent us his order request.

After a month and a half of treatment we wrote him again saying that we couldn't cope with Diego any longer. We were wondering whether this treatment was really effective. Diego was more and more ...Unmanageable. We had troubles having a proper meal, he just wouldn't sit down and eat...Too agitated. He has never ever replied...Basically he vanished. Needless to say I forwarded him the same email over and over...No joy. He decided to ignore us and not to admit his supposed mistakes.

On such grounds we suspended the treatment one week after the first sending of the email. Diego regained his old sunny face in a couple of days and his overall behaviour soon improved.

On my own initiative, I am now administering him Vitamin C, Folyc acid, Vitamin D, probiotics and zinc picolinate.

We read about Methyl B12 Nasal Spray and we would like to test it on Diego. We successfully ordered it from the US but it's been quite an endeavour to get the pharmacy to send it. At the moment though, we do not know when we are due to get it...The shipping costs are huge so they are arranging to put together some stuff for Spain, in order to save on such costs (I'm afraid it will take months).
